Dear Darling Sister,
Why do men have to be so cruel?I cannot believe he would do this after two years.Did he ever really Love me,Really?
These were the thoughts in my head one day back in 2005 after Me and David Travis broke up at Rusty's.Sitting in the back near the dart boards.David had been silent and wasn't keeping eye contact, so,knew something was up.He didn't even have another girlfriend. He said he needed to "find himself".David was a photographer who was not very successful and a bit of a slacker but he was sweet and his smile always melted me.What a jerk.I have always seen the signs before, why did they elude me now?It really shocked me,sad to say.
So, it was around Lunch and you know Gateway Park isn't to far from there so I wanted to get somewhere and cry my eyes out.His break-up speech was rehearsed and that was what really got me.It was a beautiful day in Spring so the atmosphere was so perfect and nice that it made me cry even worse because now sharing it with no one.Really thought he was the One!So over at the Park there are park benches placed in intervals along the river, looked like the best place to go.
Sitting with my hands over my face and my hair in my eyes and nobody was really around because it was Tuesday. The tears and the sniffles that come with it.dabbing at my mascera running down my checks.Started thinking about us together and the things we did.Watched the squirrels and the ducks for a long time.
Sometime later a soothing female voice said "don't cry honey,it'll be OK. Looking to my left, since I was on the right of the bench there was this couple A man around 30 with Brown Hair cut short and one of those Fedora hats with a charming look in his eyes.In his Lap sat a woman that looked a little younger than the man with dark curly hair and very pale skin, in fact the man didn't have much of a tan,now that I think about it.
The man said "whats wrong, sometimes it is good to let it out to someone"I smiled and wiped my eyes and "Oh, my boyfriend and me broke up today". Proceeded to ramble on for a eternity while the couple listen and soothed my hurt. There names Were Jack and Emily Parsons and just were the sweetest folks. They told me about how they had met, bumping into each other at the five and dime.He had a motorcycle and was very proud of it.Some of the things they were saying about working at the cannery and their love of Jazz seemed a unique and little different.Their taste in music was really neat.People I had never heard of.Finally, the tears left and my mood was getting better and the sun was sinking, ready for sunset. We sat in silence and watched it as it lowered.
I was about to say my goodbyes when I noticed this man on a bicycle staring at me.It kinda made me mad because of the look on his face.I told him it is not polite to stare. He said that he had been standing there for 10 minutes watching me talk to myself and was fascinated. He asked who I was talking to; said to Mr. and Mrs. Parsons,of course! Raising my hand and turning left now,my shock made my jaw drop.No one was there.Startled, jumped up and just stared at the spot they had been sitting. The man on the bicycle came up behind me and walked up to the Bench where they had been.He leaned down looking at a brass tag on the seat front. He turns, looks at me and curls his finger and points to the tag.It said:This Bench is dedicated to Jack and Emily Parsons,!1920-1967.
His puzzled look seemed to penetrate my soul. This was just too weird,I was blinking and couldn't talk because I was stuttering. "You mean to tell me that you were talking to these people?" the man asked politely, responded "yes, guess I was". He did not say anything for a minute and I didn't move and was still processing what had happened, when he said."My name is Jonathan, supernatural events have always been a interest,in fact I am a urban explorer and have a bunch of friends who do it too.We always thought that there were ghosts or spirits in some of these underground places where people used to work or learn. This is a different story. There is no tragedy and pain to keep them earthbound.I wonder why they stay?"
"It is Love" came blurting out of my mouth before realizing it.He paused and said."Guess you are right" then he looked me in the eye and smiling asked me to dinner. He walked with me home and exchanged numbers,Talk about a instant rebound. It was seeing the Parsons that did it.I think we both were envious of their love.Fate had somehow brought us together.
Well, we are still together and he better propose to me soon! We have had many adventures and writing you may be a way to bare a little of my soul. Our adventures have been exciting and wonderful, sometimes scary but never dull. Please keep these letters for me and someday we shall gather them all together and publish them,o.k.The boys just want toys to record, photograph and prove that ghosts exist.I see the human element.Sometimes,it seems to me that they are not ghosts but angels or demons.Ghosts seem to mindless and of no threat.Ok, sister.Guess it is time to let you soak in all this.I love you and life is Great!Let's get together soon and visit. We were always so close growing up.
I have always wanted to let you know about this,Haven't heard from you in a while.Write me back soon,Please. How are the kids and Charlie, and Mom.Tell her I said Hi.
Love, Your Sis,Debbie
P.S. Johnathan and me go down to that bench once a week.Someday our names will be on the right side of the Parsons.Wonder if we will be able to talk to people like them.I have not seen them again but sometimes the corner of my eye, there they are, smiling and in Love,Forever.
