Crissy (Contest Entry) By KiKi   Author:  15157  Category:(Fiction) Created:(6/29/2008 9:07:00 AM) This post has been Viewed (271 times) It was almost my Eigth birthday and there was this awesome doll I wanted!...All my friends had this doll which they sometimes flaunted under my nose. I would tell my Mom..."please Mom you just gotta get a Crissy Doll!" My Mom would then say .."If is is not too expensive" How I disliked when she said that because it usually meant no. Here came my eighth birthday and I had a little party with all the neighborhood children... we had so much fun! I had a huge cake with little pink bows all around that you could actually eat. It seemed we played all day long...then it came time to open the presents...I recieved alot of fake makeup and hairpins and ribbons. I also recieved cards with dollar bills inside! After the party was over and I was gathering all my stuff...my Mother approached me with a big box! My eyes popped and I felt kinda faint! Oh my gosh I just knew what was in that box! I grabbed it up and I think I screamed "Thank you" somewhere in the sound of ripping paper!...And what did my eyes behold? A Crissy Doll! Oh I just hugged my Mom so tight! I ran to my room to open the box! After I ripped the box open, I grabbed up my Crissy Doll and said "I Love You!" Over and over again! I played and played with Crissy til it was time to go to sleep! I tucked her in the bed with me...I was so happy! Next day I had to go to school...I wanted to take Crissy but I couldn't. So I put Crissy on the Sofa..so when I would come home from school...she would be the first thing I saw! School seemed to last an eternity! Every day I would come home and Crissy would be waiting on the sofa for me. Til one day I came home and Crissy was not where I left her.! I undid the cushions and looked behind the sofa and under it too! Crissy was gone! I told my Mom and she looked for Crissy too and to no avail! My Crissy was lost! That night I spent a most fitful night of my little life. I must've drifted off to sleep because I had a dream that Crissy was screaming for me! I saw fire! I woke up crying and my Momma consoled me. Then I told my Mom my dream...she said "dont worry your dolly will turn up" But she didn't. Soon It turned Halloween time. A highly anticipated holiday for us kids! That Halloween night it got very cold we had to go tricks or treats with coats on...which ruined my costume (I was mad!) That night my Dad stoked the fireplace. I so loved the fireplace! Soon the house was nice and warm as toast. Then I heard some comotion downstairs. I ran to the staircase and huddled and strained my sleepy eyes to see! To my horror the front room was filled with a toxic black smoke! My Dad was throwing open the doors and windows! My Dad moved the logs in the fire and there was Crissy! She was on fire! My Dad threw the doll out into the front porch! I screamed! " SHES dead!" My Mother came to console me once again. Later on.... I found out my brother had hid my Crissy in the fireplace as a joke and soon forgot about it. My Nightmare had come true! My Crissy was gone forever. My Mother knew of the dream also and was dismayed. She bought me another Crissy but for some reason it wasn't quite the same.
