Do You Believe in Death Bed Repentence? By Posey

What do you think about people that have never been interested in learning about God or Jesus and who have never said a prayer or has never done anything for anyone else ? There are those in our midst that have lived an entire lifetime without giving one thought to helping someone that might need their help physically or financially.

There are those that claim that there are no such beings as God and Jesus .There are however, those same people that when they realize they are dying who will beg and plead mercy from God and who expect to get taken into Paradise. There are many ministers that will pray for these people who fully believe at their death that this is exactly what happens to them.

As the family of these people listens to the ministers words to God they are greatly relieved that their loved one will be taken to Heaven and all his sins forgiven! But is this really what happens to these people? Spirit says , "No it is not"! Those that have always lived such a life and have helped no one cannot expect the same treatment as those who have lived kind , loving lives and have always been helpful to others.

Spirit says there is no Death Bed forgiveness for anyone. They will be required to learn over there what they failed to learn here! How fair would it be to grant forgiveness to those who have done nothing to help others or to make the world a better place in which to live ? It is only those that have done whatever they could by working and helping others that will earn the right to enter heaven.

Date: 7/3/2008 7:32:00 PM  ( Admin )   I beleive that repentance is something you do for yourself not for God. I don't think that it changes anything outside of your own mind. What ever God thinks of you that isn't going to change at the last minute. I think I'm sorry is always something you need to do for yourself first because you have to feel it to mean it.
Date: 7/3/2008 7:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 64365    whether it's on the death bed, or right after a poor choice, repentance is repentance, and if it's from the heart, yeah I believe in it.. =
Date: 7/3/2008 8:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 24003    Yes I do. If you believe in the Bible, nowhere in it does God give you a deadline for being saved or repenting for your sins.
Date: 7/3/2008 8:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 24003    "It is only those that have done whatever they could by working and helping others that will earn the right to enter heaven." Can you show us exactly where this is said? The Bible states that you cant enter heaven on good works alone.
Date: 7/3/2008 8:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    Hi Posey *waves*!! does not God forgive all who asks for repentance?? that's what I have been taught in life?? *hugs*
Date: 7/3/2008 9:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 15228    On one hand I can understand this, on the other hand Jesus forgave the thief on the cross next to him. The thief knew he was condemned, he knew he was at fault and he knew there was something waiting for him in death. The man repented and Jesus accepted after having earlier been ridiculed by him. Only God knows for sure what is in a persons heart.
Date: 7/3/2008 9:32:00 PM  From Authorid: 63201    Ephesians states that we are "dead in our trespasses and sins, and until we forsake those sins, we cannot be made alive in Christ." Many books of the Bible speak of salvation, but none speak of repentance needed for salvation. The book of Acts speak of "repentance unto life" and turning from sin to the Savior. You could say, then, that by merely saying you believe, you are automatically saved, and therefore welcome into Heaven. However, the Bible says in Luke that a false convert "believes yet is not saved." So, I do believe that if someone on their deathbed truly repented of their sins, turned their heart and life over to Christ, and honestly repented, then they are forgiven in the eyes of the Father. As others have said, the Bible does state that good works alone will not get you into the Kingdom of Heaven. If you do believe in the Bible, find a good study or parallel Bible and look "Repentance" up in the Concordance.
Date: 7/3/2008 10:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 26303    If you truly believe that you are a follower of God, how could you not allow someone to repent? I know you are just asking questions Posey, so I'm not aiming this next response at you. If you are such a loving person, then deny somebody the right to repent on their deathbed, then you are not really that much of a loving person. I can understand how some people may not want to allow a murderer repentance for instance, but if they actually can see where they've gone wrong and want forgiveness, why not?
Date: 7/4/2008 1:13:00 AM  From Authorid: 7830    I believe if its true repentance, and not just a selfish and shallow "Im sorry", then the will be forgiven, but it has to be from the heart.
Date: 7/4/2008 4:52:00 AM  From Authorid: 21266    I'm Muslim and don't know if this post is directed to all religions. I believe God's forgiveness is limitless until death itself.
Date: 7/4/2008 9:06:00 AM  From Authorid: 29532    Yeah, ummmmmmm in my story of all this, God forgives ALL who allow him to enter their hearts. Regardless of when it is, dying, eating mac n cheese, whatever.
Date: 7/4/2008 10:40:00 AM  From Authorid: 35720    Are you saying that just because someone doesn't believe in God they lead a selfish life? That is not always the case. As for repentance on the death bed, I don't believe that every atheist cries out to God.. if they do, I think it is because even they have had fear instilled into them by Christianity's warning: if you don't believe in God, you'll rot in Hell!
Date: 7/4/2008 10:45:00 AM  From Authorid: 63026    I just visited a sick friend in the hospital. And He said if he haven't had god in his life, that he be so lost. His mom's been going through alot, and he'd be devastated if he didn't have the faith of our lord. He truly believes in God, and we'll see our loved ones again. I think that it's never too late to seek out the lord. Jesus died for our all sins. Jesus loved the leppers, the criminals, so I think he could forgive those who are on the deathbed.
Date: 7/4/2008 1:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 63241    I believe that just as the criminal who was on the cross beside Jesus was granted forgiveness, anyone with a sincere heart (and God knows our hearts) can be forgiven. Jesus doesn't say anything about a time limit.
Date: 7/4/2008 4:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 177    I don't know if I believe in Death Bed Repentence (that is...hey no problem) and then you get a ticket to heaven. It is a comforting belief. I am more inclined to believe in Karma; you take at death, into the here after what you have sowed in life; you end up in the astral plane that is appropriate per what you have accomplished in life. I do believe that if we are truly repentent & remorseful, that that will be taken into consideration at the time of death. These things will be among the things that will be reviewed when we are faced with our life's actions & attitudes, when we are judged by OURSELVES, with the aid of loving spiritual guides.
Date: 7/4/2008 5:15:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 48809    I am sorry to be so late answering your replies, but I have had company today. I will not answer each one as I sometimes do since most of you disagree with me it is useless to argue. However, I will say that most of you that have read my posts here before know that I do not believe in the complete truth of the Bible. I do believe at one time when the Bible was written that it was the truth...however there were those that were in charge of things at that time that wanted to change the Bible to suit themselves...just like those that are in power here today . Man was not content with the simple message that God gave us through the Bible. He has adulterated it with his glosses and overlaid it with his deductions. And so what has come from God is in no sense what it once was. What I believe about death bed repentences has come from Gods teachings and sent by His angels. I will continue to believe this because so many of what are taught today are the changes that were made by man and not God. Gods truth is forced on none, so we may all choose to believe whatever we will ! Thank you to all who posted here!
Date: 7/21/2008 1:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 62823    Interesting post Posey. I believe that even if you were a terrible sinner and never did one thing to help anybody in this life, if you ask for God's mercy and are truly sorry for your sins God's mercy is granted at lightening speed. He loves all of us equally, saints and sinners alike. Catholics believe you do not go directly to Heaven when you cross over. There is a cleansing process that has to be done first because no soul may enter Heaven in sin. We call the cleansing/purification place Purgatory. Purgatory is similar to the feeling of getting stuck in a traffic jam that you know you'll be in for hours. There is no way you can get to your destination sooner. The suffering the person endures is a taste of what Purgatory will be like. Say you are stuck in traffic and it is 100 degrees outside and your air conditioning in your car is not working. That is Purgatory to a greater degree. There are different degrees of Purgatory depending on the state of sin on the soul when the person crosses over. That is why we should always be reconciled with God and neighbor at all times. You never know when you're going to cross over. The Blessed Mother shared with the world that countless souls are stranded in the lower parts of Purgatory. Until they find a way in their heart to the grudges they held against people in this life, until they find a way to show mercy towards others, etc., they remain there for centuries upon centuries. The prayers and beams of light sent to these souls from Earth help to alleviate their suffering. Jesus asks us to pray often for these souls. Many of them have nobody to pray for them. God did not put these souls there as God does not interfere with the will of man. They have placed their own souls there. I do not believe there is an easy ticket to Heaven. I believe you have to pay your debts that you incurred while here.
Date: 7/21/2008 2:04:00 PM  From Authorid: 62823    Some may or may not believe this and I understand if you don't becasue we're all coming from different paths, but I wanted to share this with you because I felt compelled to. Catholics also believe that we can use our purgatory-like sufferings for example, getting stuck in a traffic jam and that we can send the pains of that suffering to Jesus to help a suffering soul in Purgatory. Offering up your suffering for the sake of another is what Jesus did for us. The impact of your good will act does more good than you can ever imagine. Suffering is terrible, I mean...who wants to suffer? Although, if you are suffering and there is no way out of it you can put it to good use by offering it up to Heaven for a good cause. The impact on Heaven and Earth from what Blessed Mothers tells us through her messages is enormous.
Date: 7/25/2008 6:08:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 48809    Sue, I am sorry to be so long answering your reply , but many things have been happening and I have not been here very much. I have never heard of sending suffering to anyone before unless we were trying to hurt them! If someone were in purgatory ( most of us call it hell)I would think they would be suffering enough without anyone sending more pain to them. I am not familiar with this and so I cannot comment further on it. However, what the main thing I had in mind when I posted my article here was if people believed that if they had done wrong all their lives that when they were on their death bed did they believe that God would pardon them completely? Most of them seem to think He would, however , I do not believe this and we are told that this is untrue and it would be unfair to those that had done good and had served God all their life. This is my belief and makes sense to me. Thank you for your reply !
Date: 7/28/2008 1:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 62823    Posey, I absolutely follow what you are saying. I respect your beliefs and for the most part, I agree with you. A few slight differences though. I believe that if a person is truly sorry for the sins they committed here on Earth on their deathbed they will be granted mercy by God and saved from going to Hell where the unmerciful reside. God loves all of us equally because He formed each and every one of us. He wants all of us to be with Him and His mercy is as vast as the ocean. Those who are sorry and merciful are sent to Purgatory for a chance to redeem themselves for as long as it takes. Sin even when forgiven leaves a residue which has to be cleansed off the soul. This is where many Christian faiths disagree but I believe this. When I said we can offer our sufferings to souls in Purgatory I did not mean the actual suffering, I meant the "grace" that is granted to a soul because they endured or are enduring a suffering. It is true, you can willfully offer the grace from your sufferings for a cause on Earth or for a soul in another domain i.e. Purgatory. When we willfully endure sufferings i.e. Padre Pio did with the holy stigmata he offered those sufferings up to God the Father for reparation for the sins of souls, we can do the same. The love he sent changed the course of events in the time that he was living. When you offer your sufferings you send grace to Heaven for a particular cause or for a family member or a soul who has no family. Again, you do not offer up the actual suffering. I can see how that can be confusing. My point of mentioning anything about "suffering" is to say, that if you are suffering it does not have to go wasted. There is great power in innocent and I don't mean inflicted suffering. When Jesus died on the Cross he sent all of His sufferings (grace) to God for our sins because they were so heinous. By doing that he opened a whole new level of the universe (or chamber as He calls it) that had not been opened to us before. We too can offer the pains of our sufferings (that is if we want to...or we could pray for healings through the assistance of Christed beings or Saints of which God may or may not grant according to whatever our Plan is). We have a choice to be well or to suffer. Some choose not to suffer but use the power of prayer. Some (like the Saints) choose both! The gifts of knowledge are with us for certain reasons. Some people suffer because they did not know they had a choice. They don't offer it up and they do not pray. Is it wasted? Only Jesus would know the answer to that question. Other people willfully skip the healings and offer their sufferings/grace to God to advance their own souls to a higher state or to help others. They are doing light work while here on earth through that route. This is not of any religious doctrine. It is a spiritual path that leads to personal holiness. By giving all you have...even your suffering (let's say getting stuck in traffic)... for a particular cause, you are giving your all to a certain cause when you offer it up. It is everything you have at that moment. It is a holy act done to release souls out of Purgatory or to change the course of events in the time we live in. The love and grace you send coincided with that particular soul's will to forgive and be merciful helps them to ascend to a higher state of spirituality. In the next life from the readings of many Christed Saints and beings we are told that it is all about service to one another. Some have started their service here. It is so deep...I can understand why anybody would say, Sue, what are you talking about! It took so long for me to understand all this because it's not all in one book. I'm still trying to understand and sort all of this out. I just don't exactly know how to explain it in short. In a nutshell though what I'm saying here agrees with what you are saying for the most part. It's just a little bit deeper because it explains how a person on earth can use the grace of their sufferings to assist a soul in Purgatory and help lift the soul of a person who has already crossed over to a higher state. The light and love we send to them is like a booster shot for them. That is not to say that we cannot achieve as much while not suffering because I believe we certainly can.
Date: 7/28/2008 1:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 62823    I agree with you when you say that they "cannot be pardoned completely". There are different levels of Purgatory for the different degrees of sins and the Saints have conveyed that some levels of Purgatory are similar to Hell. Purgatory is not Heaven by any means. What spirit says I believe. If we knew the truth we would not be living as sinful as we do today. We gamble SO MUCH for temporary pleasures/satisfaction. Your post has given me a wake up call Posey and I thank you for that.
Date: 7/29/2008 8:56:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 48809    Thank you for your reply Sue! I thought you and others might be interested in what an angel from the 7th dimension has to say about this subject. I hope that you and others will not be hurt or upset about what he says...he tells us that what he has to say here comes from God. He says that we cannot live a life of evil and wickedness all our life and expect to be forgiven at the moment of our death. God has immutable and unchangeable laws that we must abide by and that is the way it is. This is what the angel tells us. "The note of spirit-teaching is earnestness and zeal. In it you will find no shirking of the consequences of acts. Such shirking is impossible. Sin carries with it it's own punishment. Nor will you find a convenient substitute on whose shoulders you may bind the burdens you have prepared. Your own back must bear them, and your own spirit groan under their weight. Neither will you find encouragement to live a life of animal sensuality and brutish selfishness in the hope that an orthodox belief will hide your debased life, and that faith will throw a veil over impurity. You will find the creed taught by us is that acts and habits are of more moment (worth) than creeds and faith, and you will discover that that flimsey veil is rent (thrown) aside with stern hand, leaving the foul life laid bare, and the poor spirit naked and open to the eye of all who gaze upon it. Nor will you find any hope that after all you may get a cheap reprieve ....that God is merciful, and will not be severe to mark your sins those human imaginings pale in the light of truth. You will gain mercy when you haved deserved it , or rather ,repentence, and amendment, purity and sincerity, truth and progress will bring their own reward. You will not then require either mercy or pity. This is the religion of body and spirit which we proclaim. It is of God, and the days draw nigh when man shall know it."
