So, youre going to literally go without food and only drink water for 10 days? or am I reading that wrong? Sounds like something I need to try! |

This isn't healthy at all. I suggest talking to your doctor or health care practitioner before you attempt something like this. |

The human body can't live without water. According to what I've read, it will die within 3 to 4 days without water. |

10 days is a long time just drinking only water. From reading something online, people say you should add soup, juices or even fruit. I also hear it's not that healthy. |

This is not healthy, this will mess with your metabolism, and your body will not feel better. You need food to be able to sustain yourself. I know you can survive off of water for days and days, but this is putting your health at risk. I would please ask you to reconsider this, maybe cut the number down to a day or two if you really want to do this. If you feel you have to do the ten days then I suggest eating atleast something like fruit or cheese. I would suggest reading this all the way through before attempting this. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16282567/ |

I hope anyone else who reads this does not attempt to this, it stands to reason that you need a balanced diet for your body to function the right way, and I can assure you that just drinking water for 10 days is definately not the way to stay healthy...and darlin, that is not just my opinion either, check with a doctor also... |

I think the reason people think this is a healing process believe so because once the fast is over and they get to eat again, they feel better. Of course you're going to feel better after the fast, because you finally eat again and your body feels better because it's being nourished. I wouldn't do it- it's not healthy. But if you don't mind gaining weight (and you will after you deprive your body for even ten days- it will store everything it can in case you decide to deprive it again), then go for it. If you want a "cleanse" then just avoid processed foods and go organic for 10 days or so. Don't quit eating. |

Beags is right. While water fasting, you are depriving your body of vitamins, nutrients and other necessary substances for it to function. You're going to be purposely malnourishing yourself. You'll feel better once you start eating again because your body will finally have what it needs again. Drink water, yes. But keep eating food. Otherwise you're asking for potentially serious health issues. - |
