Good Morning/Afternoon Everybody

Hope you all are doing well and still having a good weekend. It is partly cloudy and 67 degrees here in Alabama this morning.

I went over to my brother's house last night. There were more fireworks up the street from him and they were the prettiest I have seen in a while. Of course my dogs were here in my house shaking like a leaf. I hope I don't hear any more tonight.

Here's the question for today.

What is your favorite summer memory?

Date: 7/6/2008 4:34:00 AM  From Authorid: 10245    oh, your timing is too good! I sat around pulling some of them up on youtube yesterday :o) Going to Bob-lo Island [note: that's not actually BEING on Bob-lo Island, which I barely remember, but the boat ride that took us there! Sk8tr might remember this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQqyDj7RX6Y] I cried that I never have or will have a chance to share that with my own kids... The Amusement Park closed down for good in the early 90's and the island is set to become a luxury resort community.
Date: 7/6/2008 5:51:00 AM  From Authorid: 30747    My favorite summer memory as a child was spending my days organizing activities for my 6 siblings and the neighborhood kids. (I was the oldest around) My dad turned our yard into an olympic stadiumn with all kinds of sports. A basketball court, softball diamond, horseshoe pit, volleyball...just to name some. (we had a couple of acres for it all) I was forever getting something going. Also, my dad loading us all into the station wagon on Sundays for a drive and some icecream and then there were all the family cook outs my dad would have with his "famous" barbaque chicken. I miss my dad...he was a fun guy. :)
Date: 7/6/2008 6:37:00 AM  From Authorid: 26303    As a kid on school holidays, jumping out of bed, putting on my bathers and heading off to the pool for the day. Loved it!
Date: 7/6/2008 6:38:00 AM  From Authorid: 26303    Hey Kurt! Long time no see.
Date: 7/6/2008 8:19:00 AM  From Authorid: 11199    gee there are several ot choose from. but they are all back when i was a kid. my first one could have been any season cos i lived in Hawaii at the time and we went to the beach year round. but at the beach collecting seashells and exploring tide pools. the second one i was a little older and i kow it was summer. i lied in Ohio at the time. My mom got out some old sheets and lightweight bedspreads and made my sister and me a tent over the clothes line. my sister and i played barbies and with our paperdolls for hours out there.
Date: 7/6/2008 9:50:00 AM  From Authorid: 21764    going canoing on the elkhorn or tubing down the harpeth. :)
Date: 7/6/2008 11:32:00 AM  From Authorid: 13546    Spending time camping with my whole family up at the lake. (mom, dad, sis, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents). That was a very long time ago. I remember there was this little ice cream place by where we used to camp and we would all walk there, and get a cone. :) Good memories.
Date: 7/6/2008 12:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 11176    favorite summer memory, hmmmm I really can't remeber a favorite memory. maybe when 17 and i went to california
Date: 7/6/2008 12:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 53961    My sister and I were sharing this just recently. I loved walking through the street gutters, barefooted after the rain and wearing our sunsuits that tied at the shoulders with spaghetti straps!
Date: 7/6/2008 6:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 63572    When I was a kid it was going up to our lake house in the dells area and picking all the berries along our driveway and riverbank and catching crawdads, feeding the deer, and riding in the cart on the tractor. It was a very small house on the lake shore but the nearest people were almost a mile away by boat, longer by car, it was so nice and quiet.
Date: 7/6/2008 6:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 64365    My most favorite summer memory just recently happened, and that was my trip to Canada. I saw things I've never had time to see in the United States. I loved it.

Date: 7/6/2008 8:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 63725    Wading through the creek, crawling through big drain pipes to get to the other side, making footprints in the soft tar roads in Texas, swimming.
Date: 7/7/2008 1:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 59418    Probably last summer when I went travelling for a month with my parents & best friend. It was one of the best times of my life :)
