I don't seem to recall a single time my smoking a cigarette left me unable to enjoy my family/friends. |

These days I see more and more smokers who avoid many things. When they know there will be several hours where they will not be able to smoke, they just make excuses for not participating. They stand away, for fear that their smokers breath will offend. They sometimes barely give a hug, knowing that their hair and clothes are infused with that smell that is nothing good. I notice the difference in them, when during conversation .. they just are thinking of how to excuse themselves to go somewhere they can 'light-up'. I've never been a smoker, so many people will say that I just don't know how it is. However, I can say that from my standpoint .. I feel sorry for their addiction. Good writing Angus .. thank you. |

Callice, I'm not implying that ALL smokers are like this. This poem is more or less about an older man who has been smoking for MANY years and just totally let the cigs take him over (in a way) |
