I used to love writing. When I was younger I wrote all the time and even began a novel. For the past few months I've felt that stirring in me again and it has been confirmed a few times that I need to start again. It took me a while to figure out what to write. So I prayed and tonight it hit me that I should write devotionals, but write them the way I see them, not the way other people tell me these certain scriptures means. Soooooo...on to a new series of mine! Devotionals...yipee! hehe...and here's my first :) I wrote this tonight.
2 Corinth. 5:1-7
At the creation of each of us, we are taken from God and placed into a physical body. Like a child' body, being created from its parents and being birthed from the mother, our souls are created from God and birthed into the mother from our Creator. In this section of scripture, Paul says "For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. FOR IN THIS WE GROAN, EARNESTLY DESIRING TO BE CLOTHED WITH OUT HABITATION WHICH IS FROM HEAVEN..."
From the time of birth, the human being desires to be loved and continually searches for that love. Often times it is not recieved in an acceptable manner and the person sinks into self-destruction, be it through promiscuity, food, drugs, alcohol, or anything else that temporarily gives a feeling of comfort. Others sink into arrogance, self-hate, and selfishness. Even in cases where the person recieves wonderful love and support from the people around them, there is still a void that most wouldn't know how to fill. The reason for this is the fact that we do come from God, our soul parent, and our whole lives we long for that reunion and communion with Him. "For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed without habitation which is from Heaven."
It is very important, while on earth, for people to find their communion with God. While we are in the physical it is not possible to completely satisfy that need. In a sense however, that's one of the reasons for us being here. While being partially disconnected from God we have to gather strengths inside of us, we have to learn and grow and recognize every other human being on earth as being created from the same God as the rest of us. As we long for that love, so does the person living across the globe from us. As we learn to utilize the God in us, the Christ in us, while being partially disconnected by the physical surrounding us, we begin to fill that void and begin to commune with God. As we begin to commune with God, we begin to recognize more and more the beauty of God in others. We are able to love others and ourselves. We are able to see that regardless of what someone else believes and whether or not we agree with it, that God took the time to create the soul within them, and that their worth is beyond measure, as is ours. That is the love we groan for, and that is the love we find when we recognize God around us.
