Do you still have a land based phone line?

Recently I had the Phone at my house turned off because all 3 of us have cell phones and we don't really NEED a home phone. We now have $90 less in house bills. So, do you still have a land based phone line, or do you just use cell phones? And what do you think about the whole thing in general?

Date: 7/21/2008 7:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 63026    I will never get another landline phone. I use my cell phone all the time :)
Date: 7/21/2008 7:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 5301    ...I just holler a lot. Don't need one a them phone thingies.
Date: 7/21/2008 7:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 64365    well, I have my landline for my internet access...plus if I were to make the calls on my cell that I make on my landline, I would be paying a whole lot more than what I pay now
Date: 7/21/2008 7:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 5301    ...Nani makes a lot of long distance phone calls to some guy.
Date: 7/21/2008 7:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 49689    I sorta have a land based lineit's through comcast, but I also have a cell
Date: 7/21/2008 7:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 21903    I haven't had one for a very long time, but depending on where I move in a few weeks, I may or may not have to depending on how good my service is there! lol. I am surprised so many people still even have land lines honestly.
Date: 7/21/2008 7:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 22433    I have digital phone bundled with my tv & internet. I only have it for the unlimited long distance that I get from it..my cell phone company is stupid expensive for long distance.
Date: 7/21/2008 7:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 64566    If it were not for the internet service , I would not have a house phone. I use my cell phone.
Date: 7/21/2008 7:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 14909    Mine too is through the cable company.
Date: 7/21/2008 7:56:00 PM  From Authorid: 64123    I have a landline, no cell phone. I find them obnoxious for the most part...or maybe thats just the people attached to them, lol. Aside from an emergency which might sway me to get one, anything else can wait until I'm home and the person/situtation can have my attention.
Date: 7/21/2008 7:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 64497    I don't have a landline, but I wish I did. Because if I managed to kill my cellphone (which I've done before) I don't have any contact with people.
Date: 7/21/2008 8:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 56359    I don't have a land line. I haven't had one for years actually.
Date: 7/21/2008 8:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 62841    We do, because we found it is actually cheaper, in our situation, because we have our direcTV and dsl through our phone company and when we priced it out differently, it was more expensive, but we all have cell phones and normally just use those
Date: 7/21/2008 8:45:00 PM  From Authorid: 53961    I do, for safety for my niece when I am not here.
Date: 7/21/2008 8:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 61977    Cell phone only here, I don't need the extra expense right now and it works well for me, except when my cell phone is missing. LOL :-p
Date: 7/21/2008 9:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 20497    i gots both!!! :)
Date: 7/21/2008 9:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 24003    No, just cellphones.
Date: 7/21/2008 9:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 15070    I have house phones & my computer is using a land line modem. I don't have a cell phone (at least not one turned on).
Date: 7/21/2008 9:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 60792    We all have cell phones here. I did have a landline a year ago for internet purposes. But then the actual phone line died and I had to get high speed. My dad still has a landline, but that's because his cellphone is his work number. When I get married one day lol, we'll probably have a landline because I dunno, a cellphone is something you have for yourself while a landline is something you share. Especially if there are kids who are at a talking on the phone age. Sorry, I just don't see why a child should have a cell phone. I didn't get one until I turned 16 because I started driving. My 2 cents :)
Date: 7/21/2008 10:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 36901    We have 2 land lines and 2 cell phones.
Date: 7/21/2008 10:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    I need mine for the computer and I have a mobile only for emergencies....I have a good landline phone deal which saves me money and if I used the mobile phone it would cost me a fortune...:)
Date: 7/21/2008 11:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 51194    I have a land line for my kids to be able to call us when we are not home and they need us and for internet.my cell is way to much with out a land line I use the land line when i am home and use my cell when I am out.we have free long disants on our home phone.
Date: 7/21/2008 11:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    we have a land line.. through our cable company.. costs us under $20 a month! it saves on the cost of long distance using a land line, and we just have a pay as you go phone what we use spareingly
Date: 7/22/2008 12:11:00 AM  From Authorid: 40979    We have a land line although no one ever uses it or answers it lol.
Date: 7/22/2008 4:02:00 AM  From Authorid: 15157    Not right now...But I do have cellphones. I was yelled at by one of my relatives for doing such a thing! How Dare Me Hehehee.
Date: 7/22/2008 4:22:00 AM  From Authorid: 23207    We have two land based lines. One for our dial-up, and the other is our home phone. We both have cell phones and use those for long distance calls. Until they make cable available out here where we live, we will continue to have a land line. :(
Date: 7/22/2008 4:28:00 AM  From Authorid: 24963    I will probably always have a landline. My daughter, my husband, and myself have cell phones, but the other 5 kids are too little for one lol. A landline is good for local calls to not run up cell minutes, and for younger kids to call friends.
Date: 7/22/2008 5:41:00 AM  From Authorid: 42703    I have to have a land line for the computer,we only have dial up where I live..which really stinks! Then we have our cell phones, our bill each month is CRAZy!
Date: 7/22/2008 5:42:00 AM  From Authorid: 35160    nope, we have not used a land line in over 4 years now. we have no need for one. :)
Date: 7/22/2008 6:25:00 AM  From Authorid: 28848    Just a cell.
Date: 7/22/2008 7:44:00 AM  From Authorid: 46069    We have a landline.. and i cant see getting rid of it.. The way the cell phones work around here, sometimes there is no or poor service.. and if there was an emergency , i would rely on calling 911 from my landline rather my cell.
Date: 7/22/2008 8:54:00 AM  From Authorid: 56293    We all have cell phones. No reason for a landline.
Date: 7/22/2008 11:38:00 AM  From Authorid: 4144    my phone is priced in a bundle with internet and cable so yeah, i still have one.
Date: 7/22/2008 12:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 64498    I do call me paranoid but I feel safe with it rather than just a cell
Date: 7/22/2008 12:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 10245    I need my landline because I have no use for a cell phones ability to hunt me down wherever I am trying to hide.
Date: 7/22/2008 4:06:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 51635    Thanks for the comments guys!
Date: 7/22/2008 4:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 21266    We just moved in 3 months ago, but we've never used the home phone and don't think we ever will. I don't even know our number lol I can't remember the last time I've called someone on their home phone, it's so 1999 :P
Date: 7/22/2008 5:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 61897    No, I haven't had a land line in MANY years. We all pretty much have cell phones.
Date: 7/22/2008 6:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 10722    My family is all celled out. Land lines will soon be thing of the past.
Date: 7/22/2008 6:56:00 PM  From Authorid: 62881    Both.
Date: 7/24/2008 8:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 46069    Now they talk about cell phones perhaps causing brain cancer.. I think we'll keep our land line.
