I just recently had my four wisdom teeth pulled. Sucked! Ha ha. They didn't pull all four at one go, two at a time, with a one week gap. The process itself is torture (I felt). As long as they numb you realy well, there is actually no initial pain, but because I was awake (I have heard that some people can do the operation asleep) and you can feel them tugging and you're just sitting there watching them tug and tug and tug. Not fun. I had a really bad tooth so they had to cut it in half, before they pulled it out. Not fun! The upper two wisdom teeth are actually not so much trouble, took them about 45 seconds, but the bottom ones were a pain. Overall, I hated the experience, who would like it? Surprisingly I recovered very well. They were willing to give me 3 days off work, per extraction, so total 6 days for all four teeth. But I recovered within a day, and they didn't give me so many painkillers. They only gave me one per day (stingy dentist). The initial 12 hours after getting pulled out is the worst! The numbing doesn't go away for aout 3-4 hours. Plus, your mouth is filled with cotton balls for awhile, to suck the blood out (lol). So my word of advice, eat a hearty meal before hand, and drink a lot, because the initial 12 hours, even with a straw, it was hard to drink. AS for the frenulectomy, never heard of it. Take care and good luck! =) |

I had all four of mine pulled out long time ago. I remember them putting me to sleep and I also remember waking up while they were working on me. I didn't feel anything. I saw some blood squirt and two of doctors working on me. One of them said "It's okay." I remember thinking..."Whatever" and I went back to sleep... ha ha ha I remember my cheeks puffing out sooo bad, I looked like a chipmunk. Try not to chew on your inner cheek like I did. I wasn't feeling anything but I did later after the numbness went away. |

I had all four impacted as well, and removed all at once. Thankfully I had mine removed in hospital and out cold than in the chair. Its really not as scary as some can make out. Iwas swollen a good few days and sore but nothing unbearable after the first day. Just make sure you have plenty of ibuprofen around and ask the dentist for something stronger the first day or two. Good luck on both procedures, you'll be just fine :) |

LPF, Frenulectomy is when they cut the membrane under the tongue (you know that piece of tissue that connects your tongue to the bottom of your mouth?) Normally, it only extends so far into the tongue while mines goes all the way to the tip. I've got a really extreme case. I'm looking on youtube and finding lasers are more common now. But probably cost more. lol Wouldn't it be funny if they cut it and I find out my tongue is super long? |

First of all Im terrified of the dentist so just getting there is a problem for me. I had all 4 removed at once... completly asleep, make sure you gets lots of gauze to put in there and pain meds youll be ok. As for the tounge tie I hear they do it all painless now , numb you an all that, hubby was tounge tied as a child an at 6 the Dr litterly lifted up his tounge and sliced the underside with a razor.....makes me shudder just writting it can you imagine. I think youll be ok and youll feel so much better when those teeth are gone. You just dont realize the drain they are placing on your system till they are gone. Good Luck!! |

My daughter had all four removed at once. They couldn't find her vein to do sleep meds so dentist had to go to drug store and get Rx pill. She was so dopey after wards and got sick all over my laundry room floor. Take a bucket and make sure someone else is driving you home. Have it done on a Wednesday and take the rest of the week off. |

I had all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth taken out at once. It swelled a lot and it wasn't pretty...but it felt a LOT better once it had healed. Follow the advice your dentist gives and don't lay flat to sleep for a few days, prop yourself up well, it really helps to lessen the swelling. |
