John McCain's running mate to be announced soon (news)?

Hey everyone. McCain is in a sense somewhat stating and hinting that he could pick his running mate before this week is over to help splatter some of the overrated attention drawn to Barack Obama. Speculation among who is likely to be picked according to hopefuls in the country, in the media, even in the campaigning business a time or two, experts, etc. believe that Mitt Romney or Bobby Jindal are most likely to be picked, most wanted for it, too.

Tomorrow on Wednesday 7/23/2008, John McCain plans to visit Louisiana Gov. Jindal's home. I think both Mitt Romney and especially even more Bobby Jindal have a a good chance with John McCain against Obama.

Mitt Romney is 61 years old, still fairly good for serving in the White House age wise. He is an LDS/Mormon, he is huge in business and would be splendid for economic mess up recoveries.

Bobby Jindal is a Governor half John McCain's age. He is Indian-American. He was born Hindu but is now Roman Catholic. He Governs a 'Deep South' Southern State. I think in many ways he'd be an asset against Barack Obama with John McCain, because many people out there will try using race, culture, and age as a factor and excuse to use against John McCain.

Spring is coming

Replies:
Date: 7/22/2008 1:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 4309    some people sure need to get over their mitt romney obsession. Always have him on thier mind and always mentioning him. If the Snake in the grass Mcain wins then the republicans of this country are all failures.
Date: 7/22/2008 2:05:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63219    Wiley, the best thing McCain needs to do now is to pick a well conservative candidate who knows what America is going through. Regardless of the liberal-moderate-conservative alienations, most people wouldn't have elected John McCain over Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, or Ron Paul last February. Romney and Huckabee each still had significant support, yes, but McCain still was well ahead and there's still hope for bringing out many of the Republican Party's conservative ideologies combining what McCain beleives in in unision with his party and whatever strong principles his running mate will have, given he makes a smart choice. I gotta say right now I'd much rather have John McCain as the GOP Front-Runner instead of Rudym Giuliani.
Date: 7/22/2008 2:06:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63219    wouldn't have elected John McCain over those fine conservatives (and libertarian) if they didn't think he would do a good job versus Obama or Hillary.
Date: 7/22/2008 2:11:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63219    Rudy Giuliani actually makes John McCain look like a conservative.
Date: 7/22/2008 2:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 11240    Given this country's obsession with all the "isms" in this race, along with McCain's geriatricism (word!), Condaleeza Rice is the most logical choice given that she can stand up to those other "isms" -- feminism and racism. God Bless.
Date: 7/22/2008 2:19:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63219    Ronald Reagan was a conservative. President George W. Bush is a conservative. USA! USA! XD
Date: 7/22/2008 2:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 4309    Bush is not conservative and this is why the average supposed republican citizenry are a disgrace to the ideology
Date: 7/22/2008 2:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 4309    This is why they will vote Mccain and continue to be failures to the party.
Date: 7/22/2008 2:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 4309    This is why a great deal of them ate up Mccains attempts to "appeal" to the conservative base as if hes conservative. GO AMNESTY!!!!!!
Date: 7/22/2008 2:28:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63219    Wiley, I think he (Bush) is a fair enough conservative and I think he needs to be a bit more respected than what he is. He has done so much to strengthen HomeLand Security, our country's defenses, safety and protection and he's given me a satisfiable share of moralism into society a time or two.
Date: 7/22/2008 2:29:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63219    I do have to say it is appaling that Bush wasn't so strict on illegal immigration in June/July 2001.
Date: 7/22/2008 2:30:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63219    We haven't had an attack on American soil since 9/11. It happened at least two or three times during the 1990s.
Date: 7/22/2008 2:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 4309    Norad was made impotent by dick chaney when he took the powers from the joint chiefs of staffs to respond and gave it to himself. This is reality. Its not a big secret.
Date: 7/22/2008 3:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 61977    Umm, why is this in the debate section? This should have been posted in the news section, but who am I to say anything. LOL ;)Oh and I agree with Deb.
Date: 7/22/2008 3:20:00 PM  ( ChatminAng )   Oh look, I found where the Usm action is. Get back to Chat. Chatmin orders.
Date: 7/22/2008 3:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 54444    Go McCain...
Date: 7/22/2008 4:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 53961    I like Condaleeza Rice a lot. I also favor Mitt Romney.
Date: 7/22/2008 5:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 5061    EXIT,stage right,who am i,what am i doing on this post,oops.lol.
Date: 7/22/2008 9:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 4309    always a good deal to agree with deb . She is usually pretty no no nonnsense straightforward individual
Date: 7/23/2008 4:12:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63219    At least I'd have enough common sense not to vote this year if the ticket were a McCain-Giuliani ballot on my own behalf. I've known for some time that McCain hasn't provided much flavor to his party but I also know that there's hope for the future. If McCain cares about the environment (as do I) so be it. If McCain is concerned about global warming in the same style Al Gore is, so be it (I do believe it is a concern somewhat but I also believe it is more natural than it is chaotic, plus Al Gore's hypocrisy in the subject matter alone). McCain is pro-life, McCain has some pretty good methods of solving the Iraq War deal (leaving only after it is made sure that eventually the Iraqi Army can take care of itself easily). One thing I don't like about McCain, however, is his support for stem cell research. John McCain randomly vowed a War on Poverty last Spring, if elected. Though I'm sure many politicians have talked tough on fighting poverty, I'd much more believe it from him than Bill Clinton or President George Bush II.
Date: 7/23/2008 4:19:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63219    Whoever came up with calling John McCain 'Bush's 3rd Term' are the ones who really need to wake up and know what they're talking about.
Date: 7/23/2008 4:24:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63219    Giuliani was once considered most likely as the Republican nomination last year, at least in my area. Think about how worse off we would be with him than McCain...who cares if he mayored NYC during 9/11? His policies are about as equivalent to that of Bill Clinton's. A liberal Republican as compared to a moderate Democrat... I will not vote Rudy for many reasons, particularly personal-related. He is not a conservative but flashes himself as one constantly. He is pro-choice and doesn't even care about his Catholic faith matters anymore. As far as I'm concerned, we can call him the thug candidate. The best he did for NYC was not appear as the city's leader during 9/11. He did do some heavy participation in crime and drug-busting. Oh wait...most politicians with enough common sense would seek to solve problems like that in their own area after awhile anyway.
Date: 7/23/2008 4:37:00 AM  From Authorid: 19613    Save yourself the headache, vote Obama! ;)
Date: 7/23/2008 4:40:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63219    Obama's dangerous, DP, at least in my opinion. I appreciate your kind offer, though.=)
Date: 7/23/2008 5:27:00 AM  From Authorid: 4309    BT
Date: 7/23/2008 5:42:00 AM  From Authorid: 4309    If McCain is concerned about global warming in the same style Al Gore is, so *(Al Gore isnt neither is MMCain. They are both disinfo artists to help keep two groups of people who have no clue about global warming fighting at the water cooler as if they do. You can guess which side al-gore and Mccain are on . It just might oppose rush Limbaughs supposed side supposedly.
Date: 7/23/2008 5:43:00 AM  From Authorid: 4309    They are being shill gatekeepers to lead one group by the nose as the other side leads the other.
Date: 7/23/2008 6:00:00 AM  From Authorid: 4309    DP become an American Citizen study the American System, and then come say Vote for Obama to save trouble while outlying exactly what obama will actually do and you know about thats not just the usual one liner slogan. CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE!!! Step 1. Say CHANGE!!! STEP 2. ?????? Step 3 no need for step 3 that might show actual results or have a plan in action because a bunch of sheep will listen to it like its got substance magically to it.
Date: 7/23/2008 6:02:00 AM  From Authorid: 4309    Blunt and tactless is not alwys met well but it is not exactly dished out to offend.
Date: 7/23/2008 6:06:00 AM  From Authorid: 4309    I will always be the first one to admit that I am very blunt and tactless but it has no agenda to hurt you personally. In fact I like you hero.
Date: 7/23/2008 7:14:00 AM  From Authorid: 19613    There are several reasons I like Obama Wiley, I’ve outlined them on other posts. I could give you some examples here but it’s not really on topic. I’m familiar with your opinion as to who ought to express opinions, as you’ve outlined above and I disagree with it. One does not need to be an American citizen in order to hope a particular candidate will get elected any more than one has to have lived during Ancient Rome to give an opinion on the Emperor Nero.
Date: 7/23/2008 7:15:00 AM  From Authorid: 19613    ^ In my opinion, at least.
Date: 7/23/2008 7:51:00 AM  From Authorid: 44960    Comment #50!! Just Couldn't Resist!! :) *Spirit*
Date: 7/23/2008 8:54:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63219    I like you too, Wiley. But if there is one thing that has numbed my mind it is the fact you call Bush a 'non-conservative'. Maybe our own personal definitions of conservatism vary slightly and maybe similarly even more because we both seem to have some pretty good ideas where we found the President to give his party a bad name, but I feel the fact that he will not give up war in any area in order to keep us safe 100 percent, among other probable reasons, is pretty conservative in itself.
Date: 7/24/2008 1:01:00 AM  ( Admin-5 )   /-: I edited this page.
Date: 7/24/2008 6:37:00 AM  From Authorid: 4309    because he is not one. He neer has been one. He is a silver spooned moron eh. He has neer studied it nor economics. He has been an epic fail C student all his life and has everything handed to him. He had businesses handed to hijm and drove them into the ground because he ha is clueless. Hes nothing but a silver spooned puppet that does what he is told. HES THE DECIDER!!!!!!! No he is the face thats it. When people get angry that he gets blamed for things that is a valid point. He isnt the one to be blamed. for anything. Nothing he does is ideas coming out of his coffers. He wouldnt know where to start. He is not an intelligent man eh. It is no myth, He really has taken IQ tests and offered up more evidence for it. They would have even placed him in special ed classes if his father wouldnt have none of it. Calling him republican or conservative is an embarasssment to real republicans/ conservatives. He is neither. You caan call yourself a Jedi and it doesnt make you one. THe old saturday night live spartan cheerleader sketch had some people pretend they where spartan cheerleaders but just labeling themselves didnt make them it. trying to label yourself something your not for the label will never make you what you want to appear to be. You actually have to be it.
Date: 7/24/2008 6:57:00 AM  From Authorid: 4309    Raising the iron triangle defense budget does not equal conservative and it definettyl doesnt equal security. It doesn't equate into supporting the troops either. It supports the private contractors who take all the money. IE like Halliburton surprise surprise. YOu have the troops who are supposedly being supported being forced to go through scrap yards just to try to find armor to put on their humvees. They do not get the supplies they should have. They do not see a penny. They do not get raises. They could make more money with less risk working for a private contractor like black water. and they would be supplied with equipment and not just thrown out there with sticks and told to get it on. None of this is conservative but Bush is only the face of it all. Not the "Decider" of it all. He wouldnt have the foggiest but things he is credited for blamed for are not republican or conservative and he didnt dream them up. The only thing he can do is mess up in front of a camera. AKA say he is Inept at his job thinking it means something else. Live over seas believing the cameras where not rolling, despite his people practically pulling out their hair trying to get him to shut up he said some rreal winning things. His people always advise him not to say anything, especially in the beginning and he cannot help himself to help continue to prove to look like the idiot he is. The interviewers where talking to him , little did he know baiting him in a way for information on the stolen election (as if he really knew anything about that anyway) but he ended up saying some other gold instead anyway. They where just chit chatting though about all the controversy over the fraud perpetrated in florida and the voe in general without going into it as to alert the presidents staff to immediately get him out of there. But they asked him the question if he was surprised at the results . The genius said live that yes it is amazing he won. He was running against peace, prosperity and incumbency. . WIN. now while he usually fumbles words up and it is out of his character to even be able to say the word incumbency but he still didnt disapoint in truth. He still delivered. Incumbency was used in wrong contexts. Sure incumbent could mean the person that was already in office before you ran against them but incumbency in that context implies the person who DOES THEIR JOB in office or will do it or has done it. The other problem is it was a presidential election not a vice presidential election.
Date: 7/24/2008 7:13:00 AM  From Authorid: 4309    anway, department of homeland security is naziism. Huge waste of tax payer money and it is not conservative. it is expanded federal government. It is a costly bueracracy. Shrinking the federal government and not sticking your hands constantly into the hands of the tax payer to waste their money is republcan/conservative and he is not even more than the face of it anyway. HE R THE DECIDER!!!!!! no but it isnt republican/conservative all the same. Making the tax payers pay for an illegal war in the first place (Policing the world and going on nation building crusades for others agendas at tax payers epxense is not republican/conservative. Congress must declare that war and they havent. wasting the american tax payer money on something unconstitutional isnt conservative/republican. Without declaring it the war can only legally be funded for 2 years anyway and yet look at it now. Still eating up tax dollars and the troops are not even seeing the money. The "War" isnt being funded" that is the disguise. Black water is adequately funded yes, but not the troops. NOne of this is republican or conservative. so even if he was more than the face he still would be a fraud. his supposed tax cuts that where supposedly his hd nothing to do with tax payers. It wasnt conservative. It had more to do with giving wal mart more money. HIs "Econmomic stimulus package (Once again hes not the decider) wasnt for the tax payer. They even once again to fund all these "brilliant" supposedly conservative moves got a "Small" "loan" for this with of course the obvious i owe u (with rediculous interest of course) promisory note passed onto the tax payer. Not conservative eh.General rule of thumb. Unless it is designed to shrink the federal government and actually benefit the tax payer and not something that will violate the tax payer instead, then it is not republican or conservative. I could go through with you a great list of everything but I usually ask for compensation for such things and since I Like you Hero I am refraining so far to see where things go :P
Date: 7/24/2008 10:16:00 AM  From Authorid: 4309    anyway I will say it again. I have studdied the Roman empire for eons and if a kid straight out of highschool or worse tries to give me his supposedly valid opinion on emperor 666 nero and all he knows about it is video games than sadly NO DP HE DOESNT HAVE AN OPINION. Only you will endlessly argue that he does because you where always like that yourself and still are. YOu havent changed from when you where 15-16. and still have the same wierd inability to listen instead of offering your supposedly sagely "opinion"
Date: 7/24/2008 10:17:00 AM  From Authorid: 4309    sadly if you miraculously built a time machine DP and went back in time THE current citizens there WOULD BE EXPERTS on NERO AND NOT YOU
Date: 7/24/2008 3:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 19613    I don’t see how that is necessarily true, (please note the use of *necessarily*) especially given the fact that modern historians have the benefit of hindsight and other factors (I doubt the average Roman would have been able to read Suetonius for example). In any case, I have never disputed that some opinions are more valid than others, I simply believe that any and all opinions must be examined in terms of the evidence upon which they rely. It is entirely possible, (if unlikely) that a “kid straight out of high school” might have picked up some fact about Nero which you had not come across (many video games tend to have threads of historical accuracy here and there after all). In any case, a misguided opinion (which you seem to deny is any kind of opinion at all) can be rationally discussed and dismissed, if the evidence is strong enough. To focus instead, upon the character of the person voicing the opinion (or whatever you want to call it) would seem to me to be misguided.
Date: 7/24/2008 3:32:00 PM  From Authorid: 19613    For example, your comment “Date: 7/24/2008 10:16:00 AM” would have worked perfectly fine without “Only you will endlessly argue that he does because you where always like that yourself and still are. You havent changed from when you where 15-16. and still have the same wierd inability to listen instead of offering your supposedly sagely "opinion"”. This doesn’t actually add anything to the topic at hand.
Date: 7/24/2008 3:50:00 PM  From Authorid: 19613    Getting back on topic, it seems all that talk of McCain being about to announce his running mate has come to nothing. If a recent Fox News poll is accurate, however, Obama didn’t get much of a bounce from his overseas trip despite fawning media coverage. This poll was conducted before his appearance in Berlin yesterday though, which was his first (and only?) major speech of the trip.
Date: 7/24/2008 7:19:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63219    Wiley, you're quite on par. But I'm still looking at his defense, security credentials. In March 1999 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, The recently finished Texas Governor George W. Bush made a very impressive statement ending with something such as this'...The moral of our military needs to be restored.' That indicates to me that he doesn't want a shrink that Bill Clinton put with the national defenses, the military itself, more military ads, more defense-funding, more counter-terrorism watches, strength, and methods of preventing the nation. It probably also means he'd like an overturn of the 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell', which I really couldn't care less about if overturned or preserved, but it means he does care about the safety and strength of the nation.
Date: 7/24/2008 7:21:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63219    preventing the nation from further harm.*
Date: 7/25/2008 2:07:00 AM  From Authorid: 4309    lol Iron triangle defence budget going up 40 billion dollars + Carylye Group Crusader missile costing the tax payer billions for outdated JUNK == Bushs agenda. You are not going to find something that makes the man conservative republican.
Date: 7/25/2008 2:10:00 AM  From Authorid: 4309    Carlyle group Bush Sr. Is pretty much the spokesperson for and they always try to make it secretive. They constantly hire former trasury secretarys defense secritaries etc etc and will directly benefit from the laws and rules that they just got done setting up. And they have world leaders world wide within it. I do not see how you can continuously mention crap like that even after I have repeated mor than once to you that the defense budget does not = support your toops. Does not equal better defense. It equals more money in halliburtons hand. More money into black water.
Date: 7/25/2008 2:12:00 AM  From Authorid: 4309    further harm hahahaa. They do not care about you you are a pod person seriously. If they wanted to prevent the nation from harm 9-11 wouldnt have been allowed to happen. They do not pull the strings. They are the face of it while someone pulls their strings.
Date: 7/25/2008 2:12:00 AM  From Authorid: 4309    Norad would not have been ordered to stand down and been told to intercept like they would have if Bush and cheney where never invented.
Date: 7/25/2008 2:13:00 AM  From Authorid: 4309    You are not going to reinvent reality.
Date: 7/25/2008 6:43:00 AM  From Authorid: 4309    and of course the people who pull the strings since norad joint chiefs of staff being impotent wasnt thought up by baby bush
