~Affair of the Heart~ *Blue*   Author:  48250  Category:(Poetry) Created:(7/22/2008 11:40:00 PM) This post has been Viewed (73 times) Hearts made of stickers Glitter and bears Love letters In the mail Sent first class Come rain shine Sleet or hail Colorful postage stamps Reminding me Of a long ago time When I was five Passing notes As we once did In the 1st grade Remember when? Zero bars Bazooka gum Trading spit in the gym Makes me think Of Orange push-up ice cream Oh how dreamy Sno Cones Cotton candy Kisses sweeter still The taste of honey I could never get my fill M'mmm Yum Love across distance Through space and time Leaves little to be admired I am here You are there Miles in between These rolling hills Steel and concrete Yearning in my heart This business of being apart From each other Discovering When Something new Call you up on the telephone Laughing the rest of the night through Til the morning light When daybreaks in the sky Heading for work With bleary love-shot eyes Weak in the knees Can’t hardly breathe From missing you so Or could it be for lack of food Maybe Sleep------ tell me truthfully I’d like to know There’s so much to say 15 mins left on lunch break Man it looks like I’m losing a lil weight Where does time go anyway Or is it walking In the hot evening sun When evening shift is done With the desire to lose the stress Though I must confess it’s more then a pound or two When suddenly my thoughts again return to you I look into Beautiful Blue eyes Photographs taking the place Of your touch When needing your hug Forever never seemed so far away I wonder----many things This smoldering fire To be closer to you Fanning the flame Of desire restrained Slowly burning raging Nearly out of control Wishing----- Dreaming Where I’d like to be Instead this is my reality Is it merely miles between us When distance cannot make up for the many tears you’ve cried But I can say at least we never fight Sometimes it makes me angry Or just simply sad Seeing each other When we can Within the resounding echo in the room Is it really enough This weekend Love Affair of the Heart Until we meet again Somewhere in between I must ask myself sometimes Is this all I get to have Is there a guard standing at the door Of our hearts Are we forever apart Miles eating at the core Of this love affair of the heart What keeps us coming back for more Daydreaming wishing and believing Just for a little while again When somewhere On a cloud floating Ocean waves gathering in Rushing to the shore Soft summer nights Golden days Number nine or maybe baby make that ten Sweetest laughter Hearing Your voice In the afternoon Brings such peace and comfort I could never deny These thoughts of you Hold so dear Wait for the day When you are here Holding my pillow Late at night While I feel you so close Catching the sultry scent of your cologne On the wind Hearing that Freightliner once again When the sun goes down Day is through As thoughts once again Return to you As I look at the sky Star gazing alone Here at home Missing you the way I do This longing here in my heart Through it all I wait for your call Making my day brighter In spite of These responsibilities in our lives This affair of the Heart Not the way you would like it Still I wish Someone could Tell me how can it be So close we seem Yet so far apart Copyright © 2008 SAL *KyBluebird* You can join Unsolved Mysteries and post your own mysteries or interesting stories for the world to read and respond to Click here Scroll all the way down to read replies.
