I am diabetic as well. However I live in Canada and our stuff is different from the States and other countries. I see ads on tv all the time for free testing supplies etc. One from Liberty health. I will try to write down the phone number the next time I see them. |

I do diabetic counselling at work but benefits are much differnt in Canada I believe. Most often you can get the meter for free but its the strips that kill you at nearly a dollar a piece. CHeck out a few sites and see what they offer. Bayer has always been a great company for me to deal with and they do offer free meters at theit site, perhaps they maybe even offer trial sizes of strips. http://www.bayerdiabetes.com/us/prodServ/products/index.asp
Good luck, |

I'm also diabetic and have found that many glucose meter companies give away free meters to encourage you to buy their test strips. Try these sites www.OneTouchDiabetes.com and www.DiabeticAlliance.com. There may be others I'm not aware of. Most come with a few test strips, but usually not very many. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of anyone who gives away free test strips. If you have insurance, many companies will pay for the strips, and some require a co-pay. I think it costs me $20 for every hundred test strips. Depending on your income level, there may be agencies who can help you. As BunnyMom stated, I would check with your doctor to see what might be available in your area. Good luck! |
