Big tip - Reusable bags! Canvas bags are much more comfortable to carry than plastic bags, sturdier and (apparently) the average lifespan of a canvas bags will save over 1000 plastic bags going to the environment. I take mine to groceries, clothes shopping, anywhere! I think it's one of those situations where people assume 'one person can't make a difference', but many of those people certainly can!! :) |

I ride a bike or walk whenever it is possible, I do all my running around on one day if, I can help it and I recycle and plant two trees a year lol one in the spring and one in the fall. I use my dishwater to water the flower bed too. I did my carbon footprint and it was really low so, I don't know those are just things I do:) And, I don't run the ac unless, I have to:D |

Put your computer on standby when you are walking away for awhile. Turn lights off not needed. Turn thermostats down/up at night. Switch to canvas bags; reuse plastic ones. Switch to cloth diapers. Filter and bottle your own bottled water. |

recycle, the new light bulbs, hybrid cars, fuel efficient cars, turning the lights off when you aren't using them, and just picking up trash around you that you see outside. walk if it's close enough, or ride your bike, re-use things if you can. |

I know I am supposed to post an answer to your question but I actually have a question. I was reading through the responses and thinking about what I already do and what I should do when I got to rainbow angel's response about recycling everything. I live in an apt complex and we don't have recycling bins there also isn't any recycle pick up for us. So what can or should I do to recycle things like paper, and plastic and such? I want to start doing it I just don't know how to go about it. |

check with the county or city/township you live in, Short Angel... there's a good chance they have a drop off center not too far away. |

its REAL easy to recycle and switch to compact flourescent bulbs. Thats what I"m doing--so far. GOING green costs a lot of money, but once I get there, I'll start makin it back. :) |

We recycle, use the energy efficient light bulbs, and we use a whole house pellet furnace for our heat in the winter. Also, instead of throwing things away (clothes, furniture items in not bad condition) we offer the items on the freecycle to people who need them. |
