I don't have a router, but I've heard of people password protecting their wireless internet. I don't know a thing about it, but I do hope someone here does know. :) Sorry this is happening to you- that would SERIOUSLY tick me off. *hugs* |

Call your wireless provider, tell them what is happening, and go from there. They may be able to block her for you, and then when she comes over to 'borrow' your computer, tell her no... |

Your provider has nothing to do with the router. The router allows anyone within a certain distance to get on. That's why you can get away with never having to have the internet because, as long you as wireless you can even go to the hospital and use thier isp. Enabling the security feature will only allow those on your network to get in you will know by the little blue lock light. Everyone on the network will have to enable the security feature on the network. Once you enable it go to everyone's laptop or whatever and right click on the name of your network and select properties, Wpa-personal, and then enter the password all done and then only those with the password can get on. no need to unplug after that |

If, you already enabled it then, it will tell you it is off line so, you have to enable it in your network settings. Hold on I'm going there now lol. |

okay when, you go to the belkin site you should see a bunch of different links? Click onto security, don't enter a password just click submit, in the drop down menu click onto wpa personal , in authentication click on wpa-psk, in the psk type a password, click apply changes, at this point where your network connections are right click onto them find your network and right click onto properties, then in the drop down menu make sure you click wpa-personal, then put in the same password you used on the Belkin website, say ok and then you should be done and do that to the rest of the computers in the house:) |

As soon as you enable the security feature on the belkin site you should be disconnected from the internet immediately because, you are no longer connected through your router. |

Call the router company and they will be able to set up the security for you from their computers, they can also walk you thru on how to do it yourself. |

Call Belkin, and they will walk you through how to set up a password, there should be a number in the manual or on the box or the router itself, good luck! |
