I personally at this point in my life don't plan on having any children. It is my opinion that no matter who becomes president it will not matter or influence society in such paramountal ways that it will affect the future children and/or generations. Children and parents have a lot more to be concerned about, like social interaction, norms and parental influence. One president will not change or influence these issues that currently plague parents or soon to be parent's IMO. But hey, that is just me and my view. Nice thoughts though, although I do disagree. :) |

Very good post. I think that you expressed yourself very well. Everyone should research the positions of the candidates before they make a decision. |

Again, this is NOT NOT NOT a debate post, so if you want to TELL people what to do, go elsewhere and make a post of your very own. In my opinion telling people what to do is uber super rude and NOT ok. Thank you :) |

One of the disadvantages of our present system is that people can spend very little time critically thinking about their choices of candidates, cast their votes and effectively negate the votes of those investing hours analyzing people and positions. I can cast a knee-jerk, emotionally-laden response for a Republican, Democratic, or any other party candidate without regard for the long-term consequences of my decision, simply because I think I have more pressing issues to address. This action, multiplied millions of times, is what politicians depend on to get elected and re-elected. The reality is that people tend to vote for those that agree most closely with their views. The difficult task, as I see it, is to carefully define and defend our positions. |

"(unless of course your family wasn't planned) even then, you still have a choice." ... well if we get Mc Same, there won't be this choice any more. The next president will most likely be appointing 2 justices. I'm not I want to know what life in these United States will be like if they are right wingers, perhaps a throwback to the 50's when looking at the rights and choices we will have... |

All I can say is that I will never vote for a candidate who will not salute or acknowlege the American flag and who will not say the pledge of Allegiance... |
