9/11/2008 Will be the 7th Anniversary of the Terrorist Attacks on America, and will it will be 7 years since I have cried. It will mark 7 years since I was up at Ground Zero Helping with the Rescue Efforts as a 16 year old who was let out of school. It will mark several thoughts in not only my head but in the heads of many friends, family and strangers.
It will mark the day that America went to war and caused many of our friends to be shipped over seas to the sandbox. I have been to 14 Military Funerals since 2003 and I am not someone that just does it for the fun, does it to say goodbye, I am man who goes to these funerals because they were my friends, my family, my brothers. I love each and everyone of them and I will never forget them.
Still to this day 7 years later we are still overseas fighting a War on Terror that will never end as long as this is "The Land of the Free". As a Great friend would always say and said in a documentary called "Warriors in there own Words" Christopher Dean Johnson said "Its the Land of the Free, and that's the way its gotta be".
As Long as those words are uttered and as long as we believe it there will never be an end to threat on America and people need to realize this. But as an American Citizen you and I both need to always believe in the Freedom that being an American has given us.
Remember those who lived and died for us on that Fateful September Day in 2001. Remember those who have lived and died for us with a trip or 2 or 3 or even 4 over to Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait. Remember to say "Thank You" when you see a member of the United States Armed Forces, they are the ones who are putting there lives on the line whether here at home or overseas. It may only be a Thank You, but deep down it means much more to them, and that coming from a United States Soldier.
