I suffered with it for years and years and when I took vitamin B capsules it helped and gradually it stopped. No one could give a precise answer as to what caused it but I thought it was because I had not long beforehand suffered a back injury. I still suffer with the back problem but I don't have the RLS which is great, but I still take vitamin B capsules..Glad that the Marmite is helping you. Is Marmite high in salt??? :) |

LSR, you are going to say that I am crazy but I will tell you what has worked for me and I don't know why. In our little town paper, we have a column written by a Doctor and he wrote that he had received letter from people that told him that a bar of soap (Ivory soap) under the bottom sheet worked for them, also good for night leg cramps. I didn't believe it but I was willing to try anything. It seem to work but I thought it was all in my head. Well a couple of weeks later, the restless leg started again. But the next morning while making the bed I found the bar of soap on the floor, it had fallen out during the night. So needless to say, I now make sure a bar of soap is always under my bottom sheet. I don't care if it is all in my head, as long as it work for me, I am going with it. |

My mom actually has this too. It started for her about 10 yrs ago or so. I never denied that she had a problem, but hated that she used it has her excuse to drink heavily everynight. (she's an alcoholic) I thought she just used it as a crutch to drink. But she got so frustrated with it that she did start seeing a doctor and started getting put on different medications. The first couple didn't work for her and then finally I think she found one that seemed to work. But I know you said you don't "do" that... so I guess I can't be of any help! lol Glad to know that the marmite is working for you though! |

I have found that using a very strong vibrator pressed firmly on the base of the spine helps a lot. I believe it numbs the nerves and lets you get off to sleep. It works... |

FYI..Magnelevures provides magnesium along with essential nutrients formulated specifically to encourage optimum absorption and tissue utilization of magnesium for the proper functioning of and protection against damaging effects on the nervous and cardiovascular systems. Magnesium, along with vitamins B1 and B6, enhances nervous system function while taurine provides an essential component found in heart muscle and the central nervous system. As a powerful antioxidant, glutathione inhibits free radicals and protects against cellular damage. |

I don't suffer from it myself, but we have many residents at the nursing home where I work that do- we give them a drug called "Requip" that usually helps to control it a little. |

Yet another similarity in our lives, cousin. I called it restless legs as a child, even before I knew that's what it was really called. My mom and sister and grandmother all have it, and I swear by the bar of soap remedy, it is the only thing that has ever worked. It must be an unwrapped bar of square, original Ivory soap, do you have that over there? It may be all in my head, but it works. I haven't had to get out of bed and walk and stretch in a long time. |

OMG Val! I bought some Marmite last week, and I have been HOOKED! I eat it on celery, (or vegetables), instead of toast, biscuits, or crackers. How funny! BTW- Hylands makes a totally natural formula in pill form for restless leg syndrome. It is homeopathic, and I think they sell it in the U.K. |
