Thanks everyone, I know I'm probably freaking out for nothing. But it's a freaky kind of scary that I just can't seem to rationalize out of my head |

Lone Angel Hi! I work in a GI lab as a nurse so I know a little about this kind of stuff. Even after your gallbladder is removed you can still produce gallstones that can get lodged in the common bile duct and the pancreatic duct. Getting them removed is usually a fairly simple procedure. It's called an ERCP. We do them quite frequently at our lab and usually there are few side effects and it's basically low risk. I hope you can figure out what's wrong and get feeling better soon! If you have any other questions that I might be able to help with let me know. |

My I make some suggestions. I have had some very mild symptoms of IBS starting last last year. In my search to get rid of it, some things I found are: taking acidophilus and probiotics, to get the good bacteria back in your gut; digestive enzymes, which are cheap, although they didn't work for me really; exercise (as in walking a half hour a few times a week, if not workouts at home or in the gym); and paying VERY close attention to the foods you eat so you can see what sparks you off and what doesn't, so you can avoid the culprits. The whole issue w/ IBS is when the muscular movements of the bowel become uncoordinated for some reason, and that's what causes the issues. Exercise, which I mentioned, is supposed to get those back in coordination. That's what my Dr suggested and guess what?: I don't have anymore symptoms of it at all. |

Thanks to all! I am trying to keep a record of what I eat, after having the gall bladder surgery there are just somethings that I can't have anymore. So I try to keep an eye on it. When it's under control I do a lot of walking, I make a point to do so at work if I don't have time anywhere else. Hopefully I'll hear from the specialist today and get me an appointment!! |

Have you ever had a food allergy test for the IBS? It's worth paying to get a full screening done independently. I had it for years, had an allergy test done, removed the triggers and now suffer so rarely that it's not worth mentioning. My triggers were wheat and dairy....the two most common ones. |
