I went to girl scout camp when I was younger, probably around 8. It was fun!! I remember being scared to get into the canoe but once I did I was glad I did!!  |

Back in my early days of schooling, the nuns never took us out anywhere, no camps, no excursions or anything...and yes, I feel like I missed out on so much..:(  |

I actually live at a summer camp. I never stayed there because I could just go home. But I would always go to just see the horses and sometimes I would ride with the girls. Now I work there in the summer with the horses. My best memory is probably all the different people I have met while working there. We get girls from England, Holland, and a lot of different places! (These girls come to work, not to come to camp.)  |

I went to Girl Scout camp in Mena, Arkansas. It's called Camp High Point and it's located in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains. I went there every summer from about 6 years old until I was 14 or 15. It was great. I always had tons of fun. I went every summer for 2 weeks. A few summers, I even went 2 sessions which ended up being about a month plus an extra weekend. I would have missed out on a lot if I hadn't gotten to go. I had planned to even work there when I got older, but I read a book about the girl scout murders in Oklahoma and got freaked out. I never went back after that.  |

The first time I went to summer camp I was 8 years old. I will never forget my camp councelor. His name was Jeff and he was such a sweet person. I was the youngest at camp (you were supposed to be nine to go, but I was turning 9 while at camp) and I was also very tiny for my age. When we would go on outings he carried me on his shoulders and used to sing "You are my Sunshine" while we hiked. His nickname for me was Sunshine and the day camp ended I bawled like a baby because I had to say goodbye. I never saw him again.  |
