Well, I had an OB appointment this morning, I'm now at 32 weeks and 3 days along YAY!! Everything is still looking good I'm happy to say!! I gained 4.5 pounds since my last appointment 3 weeks ago, which is a *little* more than the doc would have liked to see (they like you to stay around a pound per week at this point- so I was a *wee* bit over that, and my fiance narced on me about my late night ice cream fests lately :{ LOL) But at any rate, not *too* bad, but he told me that at my next appointment he wants to see just a 2 pound gain at most, so to lay off the late night ice cream LOL.
Yes, I'm at that point where I now go every 2 weeks twice, then every week after that..it's really getting closer!! And yeah, I'm a lil nervous at this point, I mean, I've done it before but still..
I also got the results of my 3 hour glucose test, which was fine- my fasting blood sugar was 85 (which is excellent I think the parameters are like 70-110 that they like to see), then an hour after I'd finished the glucose drink I was REALLY high..like 200's, but then I fell back down to norms by the 2nd and 3rd hours- so basically he said I have to be careful because I go so high after say a good candy bar, but that I do come back down on my own *but* potentially could be bad in future- but right now, I'm good- no gestational diabetes.
My urine came back with trace blood, so indicative of a UTI/bladder infection- and I did tell him that I had noticed yesterday that my urine was slightly foul (I'm a nurse, I catch those things quick), so I had been downing the water pretty good all day yesterday and this morning- he did give me a prescription for Macrobid twice a day as an antibiotic to clear it up- but they're gonna run a culture and sensitivity as well to be sure the Macrobid will fight it (different infections are sensitive or resistive to different drugs and each occurrence can be different)- as I told him though, I *rarely* get sick with even so much as a cold and my antibiotic use over the past say 10 years is almost nothing, so hopefully this will clear it up. His main concern being also that UTI/bladder infections can potentially cause pre-term labor and yeah, we're not wanting that so I'll be starting the meds tonight.
He checked her out via the ultrasound machine like he usually does and she still looks absolutely fine- his biggest *concern* is that if I gain too much weight and she's too big that I may have to end up with a C-Section- I've done natural deliveries both of the other times, but each of them were under 7 pounds so he's thinking if Dereka looks to be bigger than that, a natural birth *might* not be as likely ;{ So, he said he might do these special tests with a sonogram each time after this to keep an eye on her measurements, "just in case".
She is DEFINITELY very active all the time anymore, which is good- makes getting comfortable anywhere for any given length of time a wee bit difficult, but I'll take that :) She's got her head down like she's supposed to and she's curled with her backbone across my diaphragm area, her bootie-butt at my right side and her little legs in that area as well- and man, sometimes she REALLY nails me with those feet right in my right hip area LOL- she's definitely very strong :)
Other than my weight and the UTI/bladder infection, things are going well and running right on schedule- I'm still very much enjoying my planned vacation time from work (I have been off since the 10th- and worked day shifts both the 8th and 9th), and I don't return to work till the 20th (I'm sure that time off contributed to my weight gain too, I'm not used to chilling out and relaxing so much- although my fiance says I really *haven't* "relaxed" as I've been up and down the entire time and spent two whole days cleaning and such), but I *have* been enjoying just mellowing out at home and not stressing so much about work related details- just spending time at home with Taw and Kels has been *extremely* nice.
Our baby shower is this coming Sunday, the 19th, so I'm excited about that. I can't wait because my baby sister and the best friend of Taw and I have planned the entire thing and at last count my sister said they had sent out over 70 invites (many of them group invites as well) so we're expecting to see ALOT of people that we rarely get an opportunity to see based on work schedules, proximity (many live pretty far away- like an hour or more) and just life in general doesn't present much opportunity- and of course there will be many that we see frequently (friends from every day life and work) and of course FAMILY- Taw's family is pretty big but my family is HUGE!! He'll be meeting ALOT of people he's never met before on my side LOL They're throwing a couples shower, because I feel strongly that Taw deserves to be there, he has waited a LONG time for his very own biological child, and he never thought it would happen, so this is very exciting for him also. We just can't wait to celebrate this with so many people that we care about- all coming together to celebrate our new baby, who really *is* a miracle baby as he was told he'd never likely have his own biological child related to his kidney issues and meds. So it's just very exciting for us :)
Kelsey (my oldest) is very excited too, she's going to run the games for the hosts and has gotten right into all of this- she actually plays with my belly ALOT now and is so upset when her baby sister doesn't react to her. LOL She is also going to do the artwork in Dereka's baby book that I'm writing myself- so she's getting very involved with it all. She's also been busy with her volleyball- her season is almost over (2 more games to go) and she's looking into colleges and things already. Her attitude has been *slightly* better later, but at this point I'm figuring it's a "calm before the storm" thing, as I've been warned that the whole argumentative thing really doesn't end till around 18 and she's still got a year and a half before that LOL.
Annnd only 16 days before I'm an "old married woman"!!!!!!
Well, sorry to go on and on- just alot of exciting things!! So fill us all in on what you've all been up to as well :)
