They say that your eyes is the gateway to your soul. So what happens when you look through your own eyes, like in a mirror. Are you looking through your own soul?I've often wondered about this because one night after i had taken a shower, i did the usual routine of combing my hair in front of a mirror. Funny thing is, while looking at myself i got caught with my eyes and i got transfixed by them. Before i knew it i put myself in trance and as i was looking at the mirror, my face started to morph into really evil looking demonic features. Then i suddenly felt a buzzing sensation like a surge of electricity was coming out of my eyes. I started to go warm and sweat profoundly which was abnormal because it was very cold that night and i had just taken a shower. At this point i felt paralysed and i couldnt muster a scream let alone a word. Being raised in a strict catholic family, i knew some prayers which you say in times of aid against evil spirits, such as the prayer to Saint Micheal the Archangel. I decided that struggling only exhuasted me, so i relaxed and said that simple prayer. Then suddenly as if awaking from a dream, i snapped out of it and found myself back in reality. The last thing i heard was a very faint but sinister laugh. I looked outside to see if it was someone that had walked pass, but i knew i was only trying to convice myself that i had not gone through this terrifying ordeal. Well to this day, i never look at the mirror for longer than i have to, and at times i actually try to avoid them. I asked my mum about the history of the mirror because it is quite old, and all she told me was that it use to belong to a friend of my grandmothers who gave it to her for no apparent reason, and she took it as a gift of friendship. well i only speculate two reasons for this ordeal and one has something to do with history of the mirror and the other is having looked within my own soul, i paved a way for spirits to enter me so i left myself vulnerable at that point in time. I believe that the eyes are trully a powerful part of the body because like they say, its the gateway to your soul. If you've ever stared deeply into the eyes of your lover and being mesmerised, you would know what i mean. You actually feel, you are touching each others souls. How it changed my life:I never look at a mirror for longer than i have to.
