Towards Mr. Johanesen you see he had so much but them so little that they wanted to show him what it was like to be without animals of their own to take care of, or a big huge house to live in, or family who didn't care enough about you to abandon you in the woods. Yes Kyle and Jacobs parents abandoned them after three months of living in the house but they told the children they would be back soon to get them and never showed up.
It is very sad but the children were charged with fraud of identities and mental illness the parents were found and given the electric chair the children are both in a New York Mental and self correction center. ___K.M.
