Everyone has had a nightmare from time to time but few awake to find themselves still momentarily traped in one. I was 18 years old and had a terrible case of nemonia. I was prescribed an elixer containing codine which is a narcotic substance used to tame the insesint coughing associated with the illness. As I was sleeping in this etherical narcotic sleep I felt like my girlfriend was in bed with me and I was resting on her hip. It was a very comforting fealing in no way nightmarish. Then I rolled over and opened my eyes. To my horror I saw this bloody woman wraped in what appeared to be a death shroud or bandages of sumsort. She was lying on top of me. My body felt absolutely paralised. I managed to stutter the words "who are you?". I was then able to move again ,but as soon as I did she faded away. It was if my consious and unconsious mind had joined together for a few brief moments. It was short lived, but long enough to stimulate my adrenal gland. I never found out who she was but she scared the hell out of me. How it changed my life:It made me wonder if Im the dreamer or the dream.
