It was Halloween Night at my college residence Halloween party. Not many were there because the party started to die down but the few who were there will never forget that night. I was President of my sorority that year and it was also the year that we lost our sorority house on campus. The house was always rumored to be haunted by the spirit of a young man named Michael who had passed away decades before while pledging a fraternity who lived in the house at that time. Despite my efforts to the Resident Director there was no way that were were going to get our house back. The RD was at that Halloween party that night when we decided to play with the Ouija board. No one really wanted to play at first but after a while everyone started getting into it. My sister (not sorority) and I decided to take a crack at it thinking that two sisters would be able to generate more "power" in the Ouija than anyone else. Asking the typical "is anyone there" question we began our journey into the unknown. The response to our question was "yes" and it didn't stop there.
We asked for the spirits name and it said "Michael" and when we asked where he was he said "in the house". He proceeded to tell us that he was lonely in the house and that he missed the girls that use to live there. After talking to him for a while we figured out exactly what house and what girls he was talking about. It was my sorority and our old house. After questioning him some more he knew things about my sorority that only members would know. Because of this I knew that my sister could in no way be pushing the indicator. I also knew that I wasn't pushing it because I would have been revealing sorority secrets to people who shouldn't know them.
It was an emotional 2 hours of conversation with him. He told us how lonely he was without us and how much he needed us in the house. It brought tears to my eyes and even made my RD have seconds thoughts about giving us back our house. We didn't end up with the house but everyone there that night had an experience they will never forget...especially me.
