I understand its not for character building. When I read a story and its poorly written or its just a bad story, don't you think the authors would welcome constructive criticism? The bookmarks are an okay feature. To be honest, I don't think I would use it unless the story is really long and want to go back to it later. I haven't found a story too long for me yet. Hawk |

Well, I'd like to respond the person who stated that I am narrow minded. No I wouldn't consider my self narrow minded. If you read through the stories, you will see that I also make positive comments. I really wouldn't call having self-esteem a superiority complex. Just because I respond in a negative manner doesn't mean I think I'm better than you or anyone else. Learn to take constructive criticism. As for mean spirited, why don't you write a ghost story. Bookmarks, I suspect, will be used to return to particular stories for the purpose of reading the new replies that others or the author may have entered. Possibly comments about what you have entered. |

Lady(Hawk), Dallas, Jedi. Take a look at your comments. They are some of the best comments on the site. It must be apparent to you that others value your opinions highly considering the impact even one negative comment has on the authors. Hawk your response to that negative comment demonstrated your self-esteem, you took no pot-shots, but instead responded in a concise and responsible manor. Unfortunately not everyone can or will be as confident. Many people are more fragile and need positive criticism rather than negative. |

Thank you for your reply, Admin. I understand that more people need more positive comments than negative. If some of these people are fragile they need to realize they will receive criticism. When a person responds inappropriatly (such as, name calling, putting the author down, etc.) its not necessary. I don't condone that. But, the people submitting stories should expect things like this on the internet. Hawk |

Pardon me, but I don't believe I read anywhere that this site was about receiving "constructive criticism" for the potential growth of an individual. If there is a NEED for personal growth it would seem obvious who those individuals are... All of this incessent bantering back and forth is not productive, but annoying for people who are truly interested in what others have to say and possilbe solutions to their pain and suffering. NO, this is not the site for "criticizing" someone's grammar or spelling...these people are in a lot of pain, despair and confusion...often they are crying when writing their stories. Administration if you are reading this...I hope you will take into consideration that I came here to help and seek help...if this site is going to turn into a Message Board for some pseudo-intellectuals (and not very good ones at that)...then I will withdraw my support. |
