It was just before dusk and my friend, David, and I were riding our bikes in the cotton fields behind our houses. "We'd better go home before we get in trouble," he said to me. So, we turned around and headed towards the road that would take us into our neighborhood. "What's that, Seth?" David asked me and he pointed towards the sky. "That's Orion, you remeber, we saw it in that book my dad has." "No, not Orion, that bright thing next to it. See?" I shifted my eyes a few degrees to the right of Orion to a rapidly growing ball of pure, white light. "I don't know. It's kinda weird, isn't it?" "Yeah. Hey, let's go ask your dad what it is. He knows a lot about this stuff." "Hey, yeah, good idea. Let's go!" We pedaled hard to get to my house a half mile away. "is it still there?" I asked. David glanced over his shoulder, "OH, MY GOD!" He screamed as his bike fell out from under him and he begain floating in a greenish light. I skidded to a stop, "David!" I yelled at him, "David, what's happening?" All he could do was scream and yell 'Ow! Make it stop!'. The air was electrified, as if by lightening. All of the sudden, I blacked out. When I came to, It was well after dusk. I looked at my watch. It was past midnight! We had been lying there for over 6 hours. We got up and started back to our houses. Neither of us said anything to the other. The next day we talked about it, we both remembered the same things and we both had fresh cuts on our chests, necks, lower backs, and groins. We never told anyone because we were afraid that whomever had done it to us would do it again if we did. So, I hope that we're wrong about that; it was a truely terrorfying experiance. How it changed my life:The experiance left me more able to accept the scientifically unprooved.
