Growing up in a Haunted House   Author: 1206  Category:(Mysterious) Created:(10/21/1999 6:32:00 AM) This post has been Viewed (1439 times) My parents house has been "haunted" ever since we moved in, back in 1972. Our "ghost" has been known to roam around freely through the night. I don't know how many times I heard someone in the kitchen in the middle of the night, but no one was there. There were so many nights that Mom & all of us kids would be in the kitchen having dinner. We would hear my Dad come in through the front door. We could hear the floor boards in the parlor creaking as Dad walked through. We'd holler out, "Hi Dad !" We'd wait a minute or two, but he'd never come into the kitchen. One of us would get up & go see if he was hiding waiting to scare one of us, but no one would be there. It's hard to say it's just your imagination when 6 people all heard someone coming in !! This sociable ghost would show up at all times of day. I would have my back turned,washing dishes at the kitchen sink. I would think that it was one of my sisters walking into the room, but when I'd turn no one would be there. The absolute favorite time for this ghost to come calling is when we are all in the basement. Again, we would hear the front door open & close, and the heavy footsteps through the parlor, and then nothing. My brother-in-law did not believe this would happen until he experienced it himself. When my parents are out of town, I often stop by to bring their mail into the house. Even though the house is empty, I get the sense that someone is there. having grown up with these ghostly occurences, I simply say, "Hello" and go about my business. None of us have ever seen this ghost, but all of us have felt his or her presence. How it changed my life: Growing up with all this stuff made me a believer.
