I've often found the one I want
but usually - the one I want
has already been found
by others, hence little chance
or maybe the one I want
simply fails to notice me
and want me like
how I want the one
For some only see
the dusty wrapping
and quickly assume
the content is nauseating
As the other side of me
the real uninhibited me
remains a mystery
behind what I say
and how I actually
carry myself
day to day
And I've friends who thought
they made the right choice
marrying their dream spouse
but ended up abused
and divorced
Love is something elusive
especially for me
thus my dust-shrouded heart
stays uninhabited
