Each passing day was there for you
To hold me as the hours past away
As the hands fell on the clock
And slowly rose back up
As in the depths of hell our love had went to
And would very soon visit again
Each sunrise was ours to see together
Yet you lied asleep in bed
I awoke alone at daybreak
And went to sleep alone
By the time you had spare time
The sun had once again set
Each beat of my heart
Grew tired of waiting for the pace to quicken
For the flow to return
Or to get the beat you once stole from me
That I thought was love
Each time I felt my skin
I missed your touch upon it
It wasn't long before I didn't know it at all
Stranger's touch may have felt different
Or so I thought
I'd hold my breath waiting
As the tears would fall to relax me as nature intended them to
And I 'd know that breath was drawn for me alone once again
Not to share with you once more
You learned to substitute your anger for your laughter
Your tears only fell when you failed me again
Your silence was the next lie I was yet to hear
The look in your eyes wasn't for me anymore
It was only what you saw without me once again just as before
I had been told once again
Don't even figure love into this equation once more
Love was a house I was never welcome in before
And have yet to ever step in at all
So therefor I don't ask for it.
I carry it within me .
And unlike you, it's there for me to give
All that I thought I gave you
You returned
So now I have it all back
