God, I read another one of these and now i'm going to get them. I always drink some water from a water bottle while hanging upsidedown. works for me every time.....But if I get the Hiccups CHILLIBEAN....I WON'T FORGIVE YOU. lol  |

Put a few drops of Agosturia Bitters on a slice of Lime and suck on it. Should clear it up real quick. Agostura bitters can be purchased at a Liquor store  |

Hi ChilliBean. People laugh at me when I tell them this....until their hiccups vanish!! I saw this done in hospital once and the nurse couldn't explain why it works but I must have used it 200 times on people since and it has stopped the hiccups every single time. You get someone to hold a glass of water to your lips whilst you stretch your arms out to the sides so they are parallel to the ground. The idea is to drink the glass of water without stopping whilst gradually lowering your arms so that finishing the water coincides with your arms being by your side. Its weird but I promise you it works. You can hold the drinking cup between your teeth if by yourself and do it without a second person. - Jailbird  |

oh you know what else works, I swear by it, but it won't work for ya, sorry dear, but you can try it on some friends for fun. Your with your friend (works best if your the same sex) they get the hiccups, you comment to them, the next time they hiccup, your going to kiss them.  my friend did this to me, and it worked, i guess the point is to scare it out of them...lol |

Jailbird, i think i know why your cure works. it's the same reason mine does. i close my eyes and envision a purple cow in a brown field without laughing. the reason they work is that you get your mind off of what's gone, and before you know it, you don't have the hiccups any more. it really helps if actually believe it. as long as you believe it works, it should work. ~Karei-chan~  |

Well I tend to get the hiccups all the time & the only thing that works for me is this: 1. fill glass with water 2. Take 15 sips & breathe in & out between each sip 3. Hope fully your hiccups are gone ... If not you'll have to try something else ... lol  |

hiccups are caused by a muscle spasm in the diaphram. To get rid of muscle spasms, you massage the muscle. Stand or sit upright and put your fingers up under your ribcage and rub it back and forth for a bit. With a little practice, you'll get it to work every time!
