What Makes A True Hero?!?! .....smile2death   Author:  23991  Category:(Debate) Created:(2/18/2001 6:13:00 PM) This post has been Viewed (454 times) I was thinking about it today...What makes a real hero?? Obviously the people who give their life to protect others, or who make huge differences in society are heroic...but can you be a small time hero? I know I look to the people who have done tiny things that affect no more than 1 or 2 people when I think of heroes. Giving your life is huge and all, but what about the people who beat cancer, or who save a child in a swimming pool, or overcome a disability, or just survive another day in a mediocre life? Aren't those people heroes?? In a sense..aren't we all heroes? Everyday we face life's many challenges head on, or even in a cowardly manner, but we survive. Isn't that heroic in the most important way? If someone my age survives his or her teenage years and then becomes a huge anti-war activist and makes a huge difference..isn't he or she a hero from the start??? What's your take on this?!?!
