I Will Never Drink Tap Water Again!~~by Cblossom

I recently purchased a water filter, the kind that comes with the container that has the filter built in. On the instructions for the water filter, there was two tea bags also. The company that made the filter challenged me to make two cups of tea, one with filtered water and one with regular tap water. Well, I was bored one day and decided to do it. OMG!!!! I can not believe what I had been drinking. I thought my tea was always dark and foamy because that is the way tea is supposed to be. The one cup of tea with the tap water was dark and like I said, foamy. the other cup of tea was clear!!! I can not explain really the magnitude of the differances between the two. I challenge you to do the same test with your water purifier. If you do not have one, please buy one. My sister also did this test, she is also in awe. We live in california, so our water is particularly poor here:( But, take the test and see for yourself what "clean" water really is:)

Date: 2/18/2001 7:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 10030    Hmm, well we drink filtered water now, but when i lived on long island we had awesoem water. there were natural filters in the pine hollows and LI had the best water...then we had to go and move, ~sigh~
Date: 2/18/2001 7:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 9130    EW! I may have to get one now... i never really think of stuff like that!

Date: 2/18/2001 7:48:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 20296    i didn't think we needed one ( a filter) either. I saw one on sale and thought, "what the heck":) but after doing the tea test, I will never go back. i could not, after seeing the differance for myself, go back to plain tap water. really!!!! take the test:) i thought our tap was ok, not horrible, until............LOL
Date: 2/18/2001 7:51:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 20296    oh yeah!!!! this is a challenge!!!!LOL...go and do the tea test and come back and logg your findings:( or prove me wrong..or whatever:)heehee it can't hurt at all.
Date: 2/18/2001 7:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 12709    Ewwwww! I always buy bottled water, but I'm not sure if I can trust some brands of THAT. I've always wanted a water purifier.
Date: 2/18/2001 8:04:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 20296    CB:) maybe the test will work with bottled purified water and tap:) sweet honey it is worth a try, do the test with a dollar bottle of purified water and your tap, then show your mom. bet me, she will not want to drink the regular cup of tea when she sees what the other one looks like. like I said, i thought my tea was fine, until i saw what the purified tea looked like:( ick!!!!LOL
Date: 2/18/2001 8:05:00 PM  From Authorid: 16376    ewwww!! but I drink tap water all the time *shrugs* lol
Date: 2/18/2001 8:45:00 PM  From Authorid: 12709    I should try it, and see if I should be drinking my Arrowhead water or not.
Date: 2/18/2001 8:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 24003    Ewww that is why it tastes so gross. I need to get me a filter too.
Date: 2/18/2001 9:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 26708    That is pretty gross. I think its probably a chemical reaction with some alloids that filters filter out of the water that react with the tea or something like that. I doubt its what you are probably considering dirt and grime thats making the unfiltered water turn the tea dark and foamy. Its still really disgusting though!
Date: 2/18/2001 9:53:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 20296    I do not know WHAT causes the dark and foamy to happen with the tap water, but if it was the filter, my water purifier has a filter and even leaves like sand in the bottom of the picture, but the tea is soooo light. i made some green tea and it sat out for a while and later it was still so clear and refreshing looking. I had also left the other one for a shorter period of time and it left stains and yuckies around the cup. i think the tap water has chemicals or something that makes it foam:( don't know, but never going back to nasty poop tap water.
Date: 2/18/2001 10:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 15033    I drink purified water too. I used to have a company come over and change the giant canisters every 2 months, but they changed their system, so now you get the big plastic jugs full of clean water..It changes the molecular structure so that the water is wetter..does that make sense? Love,
Date: 2/18/2001 10:22:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 20296    really thunderhead, that is cool. i know since i started using purifies filtered water in my waterfall lights, there have been no hard water stains on the glass:) i am concerned with putting "hard" water in my body. think of what it can do to your artiries and stuff if it clogs up the shower heads:(
Date: 2/18/2001 10:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 23610    I won't drink regular tap water either...I don't care how much they say they have cleaned it...there are always small microbes and yucky things still in their. My son's pediatrician told me that I should be using tap water for his formula and I looked at him like he was crazy and said, "No way!". He told me that he needed the fluoride...which, yes, is true...but I buy bottled water with fluoride in it for him. Yes....it costs more...but tap water can be so gross....I think I'll just keep doing what I'm doing...I'd rather be safe than sorry. LOL. Good post...gross...but good, CBlossom. -Lady Nyx
Date: 2/18/2001 11:45:00 PM  From Authorid: 24317    Ewwww, I am sure glad we have really clean water where I live -no foamy stuff! LOL. Little Lisa...

Date: 2/19/2001 10:32:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 20296    tootsie pie, the filter and pitcher that i use only cost like 25 dollars and it is Britta:) it is great and works fantastic:)

Date: 2/20/2001 11:18:00 AM  From Authorid: 17729    my grandma has one and boy does the water taste wonderful i got well water lucky me heheheheh
Date: 2/21/2001 2:19:00 PM  From Authorid: 12072    I drink tap water all the time-personally I'm not really concerned-I mean, just think of all the stuff we breath in and eat/drink without knowing it. And like, how many germs we come in contact with every day. So I don't really worry about it, it's not like we're going to die drinking tap water. lol. God Bless U! Luv, Becky
Date: 2/23/2001 3:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 18516    EwWw. My mom bought this Brita water purifier and we haven't used it yet. But we quit drinking our regular well water b/c it tasted nasty and was making us sick. So we should really hook that brita up soon! lol. I wonder what caused your tea to be dark and foamy? Maybe it was the chemicals in your regular water. Makes you wonder what your really drinking. Yuck! Love, Lemon
Date: 2/28/2001 4:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 9651    Thank goodness for water filters!!!
