Doggie on Death Row

In Seattle there is a dog, a Lhasa Apso, who has made the Guinness world record for having spent eight years on "death row". The dog was accused of being vicious.

The reason the dog was not euthanized within days of its apprehension, is due to the court case that the owner brought in defense of his pooch. In the meantime, the owner comes regularly to visit his friend on doggy death row. The case is scheduled to go to a higher court soon.

I wonder how many years in dog-time, eight years in prison is?

How it changed my life:

Makes ya wonder.

Date: 2/18/2001 10:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 20296    56 yrs:) that is how many years the doggy has been on death row. these doggy bite cases are hard to really judge. our dauchsand ( a weiner dog) was almost on doggy death row for repeated bites. it was a small dog and was not capable of tearing up anyone. however one bite from a bigger dog can be deadly. but then again, noone thinks their own dog is vicious, now do they???:)
Date: 2/18/2001 10:30:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 177    This particular dog is only about the size of a cocker spaniel. I'm not sure just how bad his offense was supposed to be. When you get a case like the big killer dog in San Francisco, I think they should be put down, especially for killing a person.

Date: 2/19/2001 2:08:00 AM  From Authorid: 17014    8 years in dog-time is like 56 human years!!! That poor animal!!!! That is so wrong!!
Date: 2/19/2001 4:56:00 AM  From Authorid: 25390    The courts are spending their time on a dog?? A house pet?? I wonder how many murder cases are on the back burner for this one. I love U.S. politics. Geez.
Date: 2/19/2001 10:19:00 AM  From Authorid: 12103    hmmm..thats pretty interesting...thanx for sharing...poor puppy though :(
Date: 2/20/2001 2:17:00 AM  From Authorid: 17156    That is so sad poor pup! Love,
Date: 2/23/2001 7:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 11263    how many weirdos have you heard of that have been vicious and done far worse than an animal? the fact that an animal is being done this way is crazy. just something for the gov. to do in courts cause they are bored with what they have now and are trying to make a spectacle of something else. sad. if you are going to put them to sleep, then do it, don't drag it out.....geez, the things that are done.
Date: 2/23/2001 7:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 11263    if the animal viciously attacked a person to near death or did kill, then condemn it but drag it out. do the pooch a favor and don't prolong what you're gonna do to it, they are'nt stupid, they know what's going on. i would rather someone get it done with then hold me like that. but if the pooch can be saved then i say go for it but if proven the dog is a threat then so be it.
Date: 2/23/2001 8:07:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 177    I hope this lingering case can be resolved soon. That dog has used up most of his doggie years in jail. Even being sent to the happy hunting ground might be preferable to the "life" he has. I know that his master would just like him back home.
Date: 3/14/2001 10:48:00 AM  From Authorid: 11263    i say if they are gonna do him in then just do it and not make him linger, how sad.
Date: 6/23/2005 7:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 7574    Oh wow..That is really sad.
