Question about well water **Dotchi**

  Author:  16865  Category:(Household) Created:(2/19/2001 6:31:00 PM)

Everytime we get a hard rain our water runs brownish. Actually it looks like the red clay outside. It stains the sink and all. Is this dirt getting into the well? No one else here has that problem. Why is it just us?

Date: 2/19/2001 7:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 6003    My husband is a Master Water Well Driller and this is what he said: "Your well is not properly grouted, and surface water is running into the well around the outside of the casing. The casing should be extended 2 feet into the bedrock, with a one and a half inch thick layer of cement extending from 2 feet into rock up to the surface." Hope this helps! :-)
