What I believe is what I believe. I don't care what you or anyone else has to say. So there for, I believe that I have found the right religion for ME. If you ever doubt your religion, you probably are following the wrong one for you. A true religion should make you happy and complete. There is not one right or wrong way to follow. Just have faith. -J.D. |

Well, I was raised to be a Christian, and I'm pretty stubborn when it comes to that. No one can ever make me anything else. I CAN be influenced by people to attend church more, and pray more, things like that. My best friend and my mom are my biggest influences when it comes to religion. Sometimes I'll get into very deep conversations about God with my best friend, and we attend church together. I'm actually a Lutheran, but I go to a Methodist church with her. I really like it a lot. |

I have had people try to manipulate me spiritually before, many timed. But, my faith in myself will overcome all adversity. I think the big threat of he**, and the devil once you have heard the "truth", and if you refuse it, is pretty hard-core! and some do do that. |

Other things... let's see.... like I said before, my best friend Lindsay is my biggest influence. Not just in religion, other things too. I'm extremely shy, like you wouldn't believe. I'm getting better because of her help. I'm starting to be a little more social and this is a big step for me. I don't know what I would do without Lindsay. She's helped me to deal with so much and I feel like a more level-headed person because of her. |

Hiya, Dizzy Me *I know that feeling... smile*... At this point in my life, my beliefs are settled and *probably* will not change. ... I was born into a Baptist household and attended several other Christian churches as an adult. ... Only through meditation and prayer outside an organization did I come to the truth as I know it. ... Religion is manmade and has very little *if anything* to do with God. God does not care what a person professes with his mouth, or his body... it is what is in our hearts that count. ... Reincarnation is real and the "hell" that people refer to is RIGHT HERE and is where we will continue to return to until our hearts are right. *whatever that means, it is too personal to be defined by anyone else*... That is my belief and it offers me far more satisfaction than anything else being taught... May peace and harmony be forever yours. /s/ J.T. |

Hi Dizzy..Interesting question..As for me changing my mind regarding what I believe..That is not an easy thing to do unless someone can show me why they believe as they do by using God's Word..If it is in there, then I will believe it..I do believe that God has sole authority regarding anything pertaining to doctrine and righteousness..If God says it to be true, then it is..If not..It is false..What people tells me as truth,I will look in God's Word to see if it is so..The reason I do this is because it is my salvation I want to be sure of..With all the warnings regarding false teachers, there is no way I will rely on the teachings of others..I do not think that an excuse of "But he told me this or that" will stand as a good excuse in the day of judgment.. God tells me to examine the scriptures to make sure that what is being taught to me is truth or not..Sincerely Rusure |

I think part of the attraction to a church or a faith, is to be with others like "us" who share "our" view(s) & "morals" (or at least pretend to. I have now seen, that I believe that "organized" religion is a buisness! and it is used to control people & their behavior, using "gods" authority.~IMO~ |

if I hear something that sounds like something I should give more thought to, i pray or meditate and seek my answers from my heart. I have always believed in things that had no basis, meaning I have no real reason for what I have faith in. I was brought up in a Catholic enviroment, however my beliefs are far from theirs, at least in their entirety. I have not read any books or listened to any lectures that have defined my beliefs. Sometimes, I think I get confirmation when someone says something simular to what I have already thought out. I believe that many churches have some of the puzzle or answers. I believe that I hold the pieces to my puzzle, but it is MY puzzle, noone else's so why should I be looking at their pieces if they wont fit in MY puzzle:) I am thinking I am just rambling on now:)LOL so I am gonna stop there:) teehee. great question though:) * thinks, meditation time:)* |

Hi Dizzy Me, I was raised a Southern Baptist and got away from the church and thinking about God or pondering His ways by the time I was a teenager. But after about 15 years of searching for "my truth", God brought me back around to those simple truths of the Bible and now I'm happy and content and well, "home". But it's great to search. I explored lots of differing beleif systems, but they always left me looking for more. Some people never do. I believe in spiritually, and feeling a oneness with the Creator. He is a great God, in my opinion and is always there to comfort me and for me to talk with. He is my friend and keeps me grounded. God Bless You. |

Good post Dizzy!!! To the answer, not very easy but at the
same time, I think I am pretty open minded. The reason I say
not very easy is because I have done a LOT of thinking about
what I believe and why I believe it. I am NOT a blind follower
at all. I am like you VERY STUBBORN. I am open minded but when
I have made up my mind, it's made up. As far as my belief in God and
the truths of Christianity, I have had MORE than sufficient evidence
for all this. My cup runneth over!!! |

Mine can never be changed. I feel that only those that have been changed are the ones that didnt have faith in thier hearts to begin with or that one on one relationship with God the Father and His son Jesus. |

I was raised in a Christian Fundamentalist home. The church I was brought up in, claimed to be the one true church...all others being considered counterfeit. I accepted this as being true as I grew into my teens. After it was all that I had been exposed to. As I came into young adulthood, and began to read books on other religions and paranormal/metaphysical topics I abandoned the notion of One True Christian Church. I then went even further, and shed the whole idea of any One True Religion. I have come to accept that all religions contain validity and truth (despite the differences). Sometimes I wonder if what I was raised to believe might be true after all (full circle). But I have never seriously gone back to what I was brought up with. It would take alot to bring me back to that way of looking at things; but nothing is impossible. |

I believe that faith and religion are two seperate entities. No one could sway my faith, which for me happens to be in God and Jesus Christ. Religion, however could be different. Each religion follows different principles and doctrine. If the church that I was attending were to have a doctrine that I did not agree with, it could cause me to search for a different church to worship in. Having said that, most religions that I have attended have things that I don't like about them. I do not, however, let religions or people get in the way of my faith. |

First..good post...
I believe that people that have never doubted there religion don't really believe it. I mean it is human nature to ask why..or who...or where. If you don't look for these answers and you just go on 100% faith than you are fooling yourself. MOST people long for proof in religions dealing with God and Jesus, and they don't truely believe in there religion unless they have some form of proof that it is real. Although proof can be many different things to different people, each person will need some kind of proof. |

I have never been part of any religious orginization in my life. I have attended different churches with friends and family over the years, and have listen to peoples reasoning behind their belief in churches. I've been a spiritualist all my life, and I feel comfortable only in God's Church, the wilderness. I hike mountain trails, and walk along beaches, that is attending church to me. I think of God daily and speak with him daily, not just once a week or only during troubled times as many do. I read many different scriptures of the faiths for their historical value. I don't feel God within the words, I feel Him throughout the world. Have I ever questioned my faith in God? Yes, I have, and still do. But the answers I find within only strenghten my faith in Him. I believe everyone walks a different path to God, and all the pathes eventually lead to God. Some pathes are longer than others. ENO |

Only new insights into my own beliefs would likely change my mind, but the change is usually slow. As I ponder over it, I decide if I believe it in whole, and except it as fact or not. |

Dizzy me, you say "have you ever doubted your religion" well, I did, but then i discovered Wicca. I did not convert over night. Its not something that you can sleep on then decide whats right. I, at this point in my life, don't think anyone could change my mind about what I belive, unless they brought me solid proof about something different. So I dont know if this answered your question or not. Hope so... |
