THE LAST, the children part three. by firstborn.

Kate was basically a normal kid until the age of ten month's old. One day she was outside with her cousin's playing in the sand box, when a big windstorm came up and scared her. From that point on she wouldn't go out side alone unless the door was opened. It got a little cold in the winter. Thank God she didn't care for the cold and snow. In the front yard of our house was the swing set. The fence went around the whole yard and the only thing that separated the two sides of the yard, was the dreaded Sidewalk! If I walked across the Sidewalk to tend to the garden, Kate would come totally unglued. She would wake up in the middle of the night when she was older, and sleep walk. We were living in California one summer and late one evening I heard the front door shut. I got up and followed Kate across the compound to my mother's house. She never woke up during her journey and she has the nerve to call me strange. The seven year's that followed after the birth of Kate, I had maybe four hour's sleep a night and not all at the same time. This has probably contributed to my mental decline. Sue was a mother's dream comes true. I mean after first giving birth to Kate, whom I believe should have had the leading roll in 'Bride of Chucky'; Sue was indeed a blessed event. Then she turned two and half years old. She would laugh when I paddled her behind! Sue had the energy of three children. She could be so sweet and I thought for a long time they gave me the wrong baby because she was little miss 'Socially Correct.' She actually wanted me to set the table with napkin's and flower's and such stuff. My idea of the supper meal is to leave the food in the pans and line up at the stove. Her clothes had to match and her hair just so-so. She would change her clothes seven times's a day if I would have let her. She has a small scar under her chin from falling while walking with the crutches and an ace bandage wrapped around her eyes. It's a wonder she never caught a cold when she would play out on the swing in her Wonder Women underoos and nothing else, in the middle of January with snow on the ground. I strongly dislike the people that say, " Well your the parent, control your kid's. " Don't they know you have to find them first? When she was almost three I knew I needed help in slowing her down. I took her to a child shrink. He told me at the beginning of our hour meeting, that no child under the age of five was prescribed medicine for hyperactivity. He would how ever observe her and tell me thing's I could do to help her. I wanted to help her, but I wanted to help me more. She was driving me nuts! I went along with his plan. Twenty minute's into the session, his office torn apart, he and I both ready for physical therapy, I walk out with a prescription in my hand. His last words were, " This is the first time! " See, the Mother is not always the cause!

She said I was good while everyone slept and would just play in my crib, but I ended up with two hyperkids and now four hyper grandkids. Runs in the family. My brother has a couple, so does my other brother, and my sister had a few, my other sister stopped at one, I guess she didnt want to try for that hyper kid . lol But her grandkids make up for it lol, I'm glad she got hers. smile.
