I can't imagine anyone would actually beleive this story. The author obviously has not even graduated high school. Check the grammar and spelling....a ten year old probably wrote this story. |

If you think the original book, which took place at 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, Ny, was terrifying you should read "Amityville Horror-the Nightmare Continues. It's a true story about a second incident that occurred at the same place four years later. It will send chills up your spine! |

No offense but whats so scarey about that story?
Alot of people havent passed on to the afterlife and this story is sad not at all frightning |
|
Date: 11/1/1999 3:56:00 PM
Sorry. Tha Amityville Horror house that was haunted was in Long Island, not Rhode Island. Need to get your facts straight before you make up a story. |
|
Date: 11/23/1999 5:48:00 PM
The story was alright...but I do not know if it could be truthful. (No offense.) Also, as of now it is determined that the Amityville story was in fact a hoax. No voices commanded Ronald DeFeo, Jr. to kill his family. Neither did the Lutz family get chased off by spooks. (Their story changed to many times!) Most Amityville stories (the entire series, in fact) are ficitional. Some of them claim to be Non-fiction, but are fiction. I believe that the novel Amityville: The Evil Escapes claims on the binding to be Non-Fiction, yet on the inside it says that the story is a work of fiction. Also, Kathy Lutz's name is missing from the copyright. Kinda obvious that George was just trying to make a few more thousands. |

YOU SHOULD'VE BELIEVED IN GHOSTS THEN. NORMALLY I WOULD ASK "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?" BUT EITHER YOU NEVER HEARD OF THE AMITY STORY, OR YOU JUST DIDDN'T BELIEVE. SORRY YOU HAD TO EXPERIENCE WHAT YOU DID BUT IM SURE YOU'LL BE MORE CAREFUL IN THE FUTURE. |
|
Date: 1/13/2000 3:56:00 PM
I have to agree with the others, amityville horror takes place in LONG ISLAND... not RHODE ISLAND... get them straight before you claim things, and somthing else.. that whole "billy" thing and him hanging... i belive i could've helped you out and came up with a better excuse as to why there was a "ghost" there. and i think that my language arts teacher would be very ashamed at your spelling and grammer, next time, use a dictionary. |
|
Date: 1/18/2000 4:43:00 PM
As an avid follower of the Amityvillie occurences and history....There has been no such proof as to it being a hoax. If anything it has been one of the most mind boggling cases in New Yorks History. Why dont you tell me something...if you were one of the Defeos that morning...after hearing a loud gunfire from a rifle..would you continue to lay there and sleep while your brother continued to murder the rest of your family and yourself? I don't think so. And how is it that not one neighbor....not one....heard gunshots, screams or cries comming from the house????? Coincidence? I think not....those in fear of what they do not know...will always deny what they cannot see or have never felt. |
|
Date: 1/19/2000 6:56:00 PM
Well, if the above person would do research into the actual DeFeo murders and not believe what is commonly known and held as truth (most of it is fiction) then they would know why the family did not wake up and that the murders were truly natural and not supernatural. (Even DeFeo claimed it himself.) I have done research behind the murders, even written papers about it for assignments at school....and I know what I mean when I say that the truth is out there...you just have to accept it....I know the supernatural exists.......trust me, I do......but Amityville is just a story. |
|
Date: 1/25/2000 8:44:00 AM
The Amityville Horror is indeed real, the story the Lutz faimily told is true and there have been a number of incidents Amityville, Long Island, sinc ethey escaped from their "dream house". http://w1.2561.telia.com/~u256100379/amityville.html The world is far more than most people tend to think. |
|
Date: 1/25/2000 11:48:00 AM
The Lutz story was indeed a hoax and you can bet they made plenty off of the story the truth is the Lutzes told a relative of "bad feelings" they had in the house and the relative suggested they expand on thier "bad feelings" and the supposed events were written over several bottles of wine, shortly after the Lutzes went public with a press conference of all things Jay Anson wrote the book and the rest is history,I mean come on a levitating pig named jodie give me a break. Can any of you no hoax believers explain why none of the owners of the house since have experienced anything supernatural? |
|
Date: 1/25/2000 1:16:00 PM
It's *claimed* that they haven't experienced anything. Can you, then, explain why there have been a quite frequent change of owners? And anyway, "Supernatural phenomena" may stick to one place or they not. There are plenty of other examples of hauntings "turning on and off". It's not unusual. There are places which seem to be permanently haunted, though.

Yes I can explain why the house has changed hands so many times money, it went for as low as 55,ooo after the Lutzes then in the 80,s then in the 100,s and recently it sold 18 months ago for 315,ooo the owners are selling to make money. I know the current owners have been there 18 months and are fixing the old place up Why haven't they fled in terror? I have also had conversations with residents near the home who have allowed their children to spend the night in the home and guess what no ghosts! face it the Lutz story was a hoax and with all the books and movies are probably living on their own island by now. In my opinion the real tragedy in this story is that lost in all of this media circus was the fact that six people died in that house but nobody remembers that just about the levitating pigs and indian curses Can you no hoax believers please state some facts to back up your argument. |
|
Date: 1/27/2000 10:05:00 AM
Well well looks like all the No Hoax believers dont have any comments or facts to back up thier no hoax argument thats about what I expected. |
|
Date: 1/28/2000 1:05:00 PM
Another "claim", as valuable as all the other lies from the hoax clan.
Facts? The case is full of them. It's one of the best documented paranormal case ever. This won't change, no matter how much you people are attempting to obscure the issue. I have to look very hard to find more unsubstantiated claims than from the hoax fanatics in this case. Can it be because it it really hitting home?

just so you know after reading the story I read the remarks, and some of the rest of you need to get your stories straight. Having recently found out that I am the only child of Ronald J. De Feo Jr. given up for adoption by my birth mother, who was married to Ronald in July of 1970, that the Amityville storie is in fact true!!! Yes it did happen!!!! P.S. If you have any question about the real Amityville, you can email me at mlp70@yahoo.com. And if you want a letter written by Ronald DeFeo I have them for sale also. |

This little story is a cross between "Pet Cemetary" and "The Amityville Horror". Both of which are works of fiction. I agree with the others who say the real horror is the death of six innocent people at the hand of their son and brother. Ronald De Feo was up for parole last September and wisely was denied. The only monster in that house was Ronald himself. It is a shame that people have made and are still making money from this family's tragedy. |
|
Date: 11/1/2000 9:20:00 AM
Why do the people who have been in the house say they have heard or seen objects, and the people who were there at the moment expirience something
different.Everyone might have a different story, but do they want this for attention or are they telling the truth? |
