well, either live with the color until it goes away, re-dye it back to your normal color or see a professional. i never dye my hair because you never know if its gonna turn the right color. :-) twinkletoes ![]() |

Well first off if you have dark hair and try to dye it blonde, then it will turn almost orange if not that. The only thing I can suggest is dying it again, try a light brown this time you may have to bleach it some to get the red/orange out then duy it light brown. I know that will cost more than you want to. If you do bleach it and you have brown hair make sure that you get a bleach with a toner in it, the toner helps keep the red/orange thing from happening. You may have to go to a beauty supply place or your local salon and get some tips, if they will help. Good Luck, Love, ![]() |

Your natural hair color must have shades of red in it that you can't see. If you want it light brown, get a couple of shades darker, like medium brown. But WAIT A WHILE before you do it again, or else you'll fry your hair ![]() |

K this will work really good i do it all the time im the peroxide queen lol. Use Loreal BLONDISSIMA this will srtip your hair it will almost bleach it a platinum blonde almost white, then follow the directions on the box when to wash it out ect. STEP 2. let hair dry ect then add the brown that u wanted in the fist place PRESTO!!!!!!there is the color you wanted. Be very careful when using the BLONDISSIMA follow the directions on the box to the T. And dont freak if you feel your hair is way to light the blondissima is a hair stripper. As someone who colors on a regular basis I can tell you that most store brand browns have a red base to them. What I would do is go to a beauty supply shop. Most places you don't need a beauticians license to purchase the over the counter colors. The brands they sell at supply shops are of better quality (I think). If you don't have a beuty supply shop in your area I would buy another box of color. I would go back to a shade that closely matches your natural color and start over again. DO NOT try to achieve your desired color with your present shade. I've talked with stylists and hsve been told that you can color again as soon as 24 hours. Good Luck. ROCK-ON! SAMIAM :-) ![]() |

you need to wait at least 7 days before putting any more chemicals on your hair. then when you go buy more color, look for one that says "ash" on it. that helps take away the red tint. that's waht my hairdresser told me. i was having the same red problem. good luck. ![]() |

Don't go dying it a thousand times......you will kill your hair. If you have dark hair you can't go blonde in one huge step, it almost always turns orange or red. Condition it good and do conditioning treatments before you turn to dye it again. Get a color that has ash in it. Do not strip your hair, that is the worst thing that you can do do it now. Go to a salon and ask them what to do.........Azairyia ![]() |

Thanks alot everybody. I guess I'll ask my friend who's a hairdresser what I should do. All your replies were really great. Before I ever started dyning my hair my natural hair color was dark blonde. But it started to get darker so I got light blonde streaks in it.Then when those started to grow out I dyed my hair med blonde and it turned red at my roots where it was getting dark again. So now about 3 months later I tried to dye it dark blonde again and well, now, it's red-orange!So how long should I wait to re-dye my hair? The box said 4-6 weeks.Thanks. Jasmine ![]() |

If you had brown hair naturally, then a blonde dye will often make it go orangey red. Do not try to fix it yourself with at home store-bought dyes, you will destroy your hair. I had to cut my hair right off twice after using blondissima bleach. Go see a professional if you don't want to be all splotchy and multicolored ![]() |

| Date: 3/26/2001 8:12:00 PM From Authorid: 30739 Mystical is right. You have to strip your hair first if you want to go lighter. word of caution: it will damage your hair. I got it done at the salon and it makes your hair very dry and frizzy. you have to condition it very thouroughly! Good Luck!! Hello Kitty |

I've been every colour there is lol...though my natural colour is darker and I dye it blonde, I have a lot of red pigment in my natural hair colour....I always used a toner after blonding it and it took away the brassiness (yellow), I now go to the salon and they do it for me... ![]() |
